Terrible

(1 out of 5) by Roxy Girl on Jan 28, 2009 (PA USA)
I usually put my money that I get for my birthday in the bank, but I really wanted a new clock because I hated my old one. So,I bought this clock without looking at the reviews about it on Amazon, which was really stupid of me. But anyway, I hooked it up without reading the directions. I found out that night that the screen on the clock was a very bright shade of blue and it wouldn't turn off so I would either turn it away or put a tissue box in front of it. Thats not all, the next morning I was awoken to a blast of music. That night I look at the instuctions and I figured out that the music starts at medium volume and gets louder if you don't turn it off. That is the stupidest feature I have ever heard. I was so mad I took the clock right back. Unfortunately hardly any of the clock radios get good reviews. I just found the Timex TS612 but it is out of stock. It seems like the perfect clock for me. So my advice is if don't like to be woken up to very loud music or don't like a lot of light from your clock, DON'T buy this clock. If you do you'll regret it!

Never worked - total piece of junk

(1 out of 5) by J Jarvis on Dec 17, 2008 (Buford, GA)
I purchased this radio from our local red box store, not from Amazon - but was so disgusted with the product I thought I'd leave a review here. The radio is extremely fuzzy, even with the wire antenna extended full length. I figured oh well, I mostly bought it for the CD player. Well, that didn't work either. The spring that keeps the CD close to the laser doesn't work and so the only thing you get from the CD player is static (unless you lay it down on it's back and let gravity do the work). Finally, the blue screen in the center of this thing is brighter than a night light. Even on the dim setting I had to put a washcloth over it so I could sleep. Very disappointed in this clock and would give it zero stars if I could.

Alarming how poorly thought out this alarm is...

(1 out of 5) by 5. Wars on Sep 17, 2008 (socal)
Just bought this yesterday, wanting a newer alarm clock that had the CD feature. Well, after setting it CORRECTLY last night and testing it several times, somehow it still DID NOT go off at the right time this morning, husband was late to work, and we noticed how lame the design is to put the alarmoff button DIRECTLY connected to the sleep button. If your big fat lazy morning finger doesn't hit the snooze button right where it should, you'll just turn the alarm off and NOT be awakened. VERY strange design. Don't know why I didn't notice it better in the store (whcih was target) where I bought it. DEFINITELY returning it ASAP, probably for the Sony....

fixing the light

the blue light is way too bright. i solved this problem by opening the cd bay, unscrewing the small screws then removing the hatch. inside you will find a glass screen that displays the black numbers of the clock and behind that is a white board which displays the annoying blue light connected by a red and black wire. if you cut both the red and black wire you will lose the blue light all together. this turned my product from an original 2 rating to a 3.5. i can now sleep again without the blue light staring at me.

Do not buy this!

What an awful item. The digital read out is hard to see. The numbers for the alarm are small and almost impossible to read. The radio alarm never worked. This item was unacceptable and I returned it!
