Works great for me too.

I bought this antenna to replace an old set of rabbit ears and a wire loop bow tie. This setup worked OK for analog TV, although it did require some fiddling with when changing channels, delivering an acceptable picture most of the time. I'm between 19 and 35 miles from the various towers. A couple of weeks ago I bought a DTV converter box and decided I may as well upgrade the antenna at the same time. With this antenna I'm able to receive 12 crystal clear DTV channels compared to 5 analog channels before. It took a bit of adjusting to get the antenna in the right position at first, but once I found the sweet spot I haven't had to touch it again. I have no idea how much of the improvement is due to the antenna and how much has to do with the digital signal, but the combination works very well for me.

Edited to add: I just found another plus for this antenna. It has an extra coax output that can be plugged into the TV (or an FM radio) so you can still watch the analog stations. My local PBS station broadcasts 3 digital channels along with the current analog channel. The digital channels don't carry all the same programs that are shown on the analog channel. Most digital converter boxes don't pass through the old analog signal so you loose some programing. With this antenna you can have both.

It may also be worth noting that there is no such thing as an HDTV antenna. High definition and digital TV signals are broadcast in the same VHF/UHF spectrum as standard analog TV. Any TV antenna can receive HD and DTV signals. Labeling as an HDTV antenna is just marketing hype.

Specifications

(5 out of 5) by Richard A. Herndon on Feb 4, 2008
I thought I should comment on this item since so little information is given in the listing--I wondered if I was buying a "pig in a poke" when I ordered it. In short, this Leviton amplified antenna offers a significant improvement over a passive rabbit-ears antenna.

To be more specific, information provided on the box is as follows:
Frequency: 40-860 Mhz
Gain: VHF 20dB, UHF 20dB
Gain Control: 30dB
Noise Figure: 6dB
Power Supply: 110 VAC

Hope this helps,
Richard

Powerful Indoor Antenna

(5 out of 5) by Ngo Hung Tui on May 30, 2007
This Leviton is product is amazingly powerful for use as indoor antenna for household TV. I've tried the MASPRO brand from Japan but can't receive TV signals as good as this Leviton model.

indoor digital antenna

Purchased this product b/c of online reviews. Unit worked great until Christmas Day. As I adjusted antenna, the wire from the back just came out & now it does not work at all. Will try to return item & order a total different model.

I live in a remote area where I do not have access to cable, high speed and wireless internet. I have no other option than roof top or rabbit ears. Cannot afford satellite. I replaced my rabbit ears with this product and immediately noticed an improvement in reception. It was worth the money.
