I went ahead and picked this out at a local car audio shop. I will go over the features:
DVD playback:
This is what its all about. DVD playback is great with this device. Great picture quality and plays burned movies and certain files like mpeg and divx. The remote is a layed out poorly, but once you learn it its great.
CD/MP3/DVD MP3/WMA
Plays the disks. Lays out everything on the screen in a clump, its hard to navigate quickly and the remote is very slow at responding. Sometimes songs will pause or fail to load on perfect disks and you'll have to skip and go back. I recommend making a disk of everything you like and putting it on random. Have to use the screen to find any songs. The other LED screen, when the main screen is closed, is worthless. It just list track numbers.
IPOD:
Great feature and easy to hook up. It plays the songs in alphabetical order and not playlist order. It makes me so mad. Fairly easy to navigate though once you get the hang of it.
XM:
The XM feature is flawed. It will only display 9 characters of the song or artist so it the song is more than 9 characters you'll just have to guess the name. It doesn't scroll the name either. This makes talkshows with phone numbers listed as the song worthless. Also if you scroll through the stations to fast it freezes up and you have to turn the system on and off.
Bottom line:
Its cheap. The remote is worthless and response time is slow. Don't expect anything great. It gets the job done. One last note. The joystick knob is horrible, when you hit right on the knob it goes up. Jensen why didn't you use buttons?
