Cheap, and gets the job done.

(5 out of 5) by Kendal A. Osborne on Oct 6, 2007 (Oklahoma)
This isn't for anyone looking for a professional solution for a headphone amp, but for 99% of people, they just want something cheap that works, and this completes that job with extreme valiance! What a great buy! Works great, small and portable, 2 inputs and 4 channels. This means that you can have 4 headphones and on each channel you can switch between input 1 or input 2. I have this as input one is the feed before signal processing (dry) and input 2 is the signal after processing. Neat!

changed my life!

(5 out of 5) by KG on May 19, 2008 (Starks Maine USA)
I don't normally write product reviews, but I felt obligated to write this one. The MINIamp has changed my life! My wife and I are elderly and quite hard of hearing. Hearing-aids don't do the trick for us. Watching DVD's and other video programs has become quite difficult and unpleasant -- until we found the Behringer MINIAmp, that is. What a joy! It has made a huge difference. The sound is exquisite. My wife was formerly a professional muscian. She, too, raves about the sound. We can distinguish the first and second violins in a string quartet! The unit is simple to use, despite having two input sources and four headphone outputs. The price is truly unbelievable -- a real bargain.

Very well made product. Once I was able to figure out how to use it.
However the user guide in some areas is vague and not user friendly, compared to,for example, those shown on line by competitors.
Some first time users, will become confused
A glossary, that includes an explanation of the terms used in simple language, would be useful Has insufficient hook up diagrams examples for various applications.

I just bought it today but be warned...

(4 out of 5) by G. Whatley on May 16, 2009 (BHAM, AL)
I just purchased this item today. That's why I could only give it 4 stars. I am satisfied with it so far. I'm using it to amplify my Roland Keyboard to get more sound out of my headphones. As many of you know, the Behringer brand is not synonymous with quality. I've talked to several music store people about this and most of them have the same opinion. However, there's something to be said for getting a less expensive product if you don't mind sacrificing quality. If you buy this item "BE WARNED". It specifically says in the user's manual. "When you finish using the AMP800, unplug the power supply unit from the power source. As long as the power supply unit is connected to a power source, the power supply unit consumes energy." That's probably why Behringer's products tend to "burn out" as some people have said because they leave these items plugged up when not using them. Unplug it when you are not using it. It's obviously not like most small electronics that we're used to just pushing the off switch when we're done using them. Or, do what I did and plug it into a power strip so that you can switch it off instead of having to reach behind the unit and unplug it every time. It's not for professional use in my opinion but as another reviewer said it gets the job done.
