Good Investment

(5 out of 5) by Three Hawks on Jan 29, 2007 (OK)
Purchased these over a month ago and so far I am very pleased with them. Although they are for smaller rooms, two work really well when placed strategically in the house. For the money, I don't think you'll find much better. Not real impressed with the ones that came with them for the vehicle - of course they were free (if there is such a thing), so won't complain. Wouldn't buy them separately.

Wowie -- Better than the "other" Ionic

(5 out of 5) by FiddleLizzie on Jan 10, 2008 (St. Paul, MN, USA)
Yes, the machines just arrived today. And yes, as always, delivery was on time, well packed, and everything in order, thanks to Amazon. Easy set up, and shazzam the air purifiers were on the grid and making all breathing clean, with little noise. As in none. As in quiet. And, if in the long run they work like the 'other' brand, I'll have less allergies. And, whatever was stinking up the joint won't smell so bad.

But, having owned the "other" ionic air purifiers in the past, I can say with total glee, these are better, less expensive, and more efficient, all at less than half what I paid for the original 'other' ones, which are now broken -- thanks mostly to the 'move from hell gone bad'. That is, the older ones worked well, but didn't survive the move, no fault of the 'other' ionic cleaner's makers. My piano was dropped 8 times on the way to my flat for goodness sake, so he fact the filter machines broke is certainly not a manufacturing defect. The air purifiers didn't stand a chance. But the new Ionic Pro's are more silent that the older 'other' ones. And they work. They work well.

Now, on to the good stuff. The air cleaners have already captured a wealth (?!?) of gunk. Not ready for cleaning the blades yet, but they are actually reducing the dust, crud and other assorted airborne stuff that I'd otherwise be breathing. And, having been blessed, or cursed, with the auditory acuity of a fruit-bat, the machines are quiet and that is delightful. Lack of noise is very important to me as I treasure my hearing and need to have quiet to work, think and sleep.

These are black, so I am presuming they won't show much in terms of dirt. Plus, they are functionally easy to place a foot from a wall, the recommended distance. This means that I'll not trip over them and I get clean air in relative silence.

They are cute, in a R2D2 kind of way. They also don't interfere with the decor. Call me eclectic, but mostly call me a decorator with asipirations to a sort of English country house meets the twenty-first century. Being black, these little gizmos take little notice from the eyes.

Did I mention they are quiet?

And, the best thing about these air purifiers? They do exactly what they are supposed to do, and they do it well in almost silence.

Purchase these units with security that you won't be wasting your money.

As for the car air purifiers, I cannot say. I don't drive, so these will be gifted to people that might want them. Believe me, Ill also be checking that those that receive, will use them. So, bottom line is this. Go ahead, purchase and breathe deeply. You'll have less chance of inhaling whatever you don't want to breathe in. And that, as they say, is a good thing. And they are really, truly quiet.

Good Product but...

(4 out of 5) by Knowledge & Stuff on Jun 29, 2007 (Hartford, CT USA)
I read the reviews before purchasing the air purifiers and felt comfortable enough to make my choice based on them. After using the air purifiers for about a month I noticed that their performance is not as advertised. Even putting the 2 together they don't trapped the dust and allergens like an air purifier is supposed to. The car ionizers? useless.

odor-free;allergy-free

(4 out of 5) by Darna Dyesebel on May 12, 2007 (Seattle, WA United States)
It's very useful. I put one in the living room to help get rid of pet odor and food odor when cooking in the kitchen and one in my bedroom, since my Pomeranian loves to sleep and play there. It's worth the price. However, I only gave it as a four-star since the ionic car-plug in does not really do a thing. But since it came in for free, I have no complains. Again, the Ionic Pro works great for me and to my apartment.

Clean Air

(5 out of 5) by Charles G. Mocsiran on Apr 18, 2009 (Lynch Station VA)
Bought the twin pack for 2 room coverage. The one in family room is set on high...bedroom on low (high was too much). They do a wonderful job removing cat dander. My allergies have been minimalized a great deal. Would highly recommend based on performance and pricing. Can't imagine the units costing 2-4 times as much doing a better job
