Does Exactly As Promised
I got the TP-7 to used for recording phone calls as required by some new regulations in my business. When I started looking for solutions, I thought I would need a system that hooked into my phone system and was expensive. Then I came across this. It is so simple yet works great. You just plug it into your device ( I use it with the Olympus DS-40) and stick the other end into your ear. The earbud has a microphone on the opposite side that records the other person and it also records your own voice very well. The results are amazingly clear. I've used it without any problems with background noise or interferance. The thing that blows me away is that it is so simple. You can use this with any phone. I've used it with my land line and cell phone without any problems. This was the perfect solution for what I needed and I would highly recommend it.

Works Great!
Sensitive enough to pick up your own voice clearly and record the voice coming over the phone too! I am very pleased.

Telephone Recording Device
This product works as described. It even worked with my blue tooth hands free. I can easily document both sides of a telephone call comfortably and hands free. I recommend getting this if you have those needs. All recording adjustments are done through your Olympus recorder. I am 100% satisfied with its performance. My needs are not high tech, but it is the best bang for the buck.

Great item!
My experience matches most of the others - this is a useful, effective item. I typically wear an over-the-ear noise-blocking headset while recording consulting sessions. I put the ear-bud in and my headset over it. Worked just fine and was comfortable. I especially like the hint in another review to use this as a microphone.

What took them so long to come up with this?
After having struggled with every other design of telephone recording microphone, including the awful suction cup design (never sticks long enough to be useful, plus terrible sound quality all around) and the type that plug into the actual line between a corded phone handset and the dial pad), I finally discovered this device and I am enamored with the simplicity and effectiveness of its design. First, it is so comfortable that I often forget I am wearing it. Secondly, it records even better than my previous technique of aiming a shotgun mike at a conference phone, without compromising my in-call experience at all. Thirdly, although, as another reviewer mentioned, it does not record in stereo, I can imagine any applications (at least that apply to my work) where that feature might be useful. This is a high-quality piece of gear and it is at an affordable price. I've paid far more and received far less from competing products.
By the way, for the tech-curious, I am using the Sony Professional Portable 24-bit Linear Audio Recorder, which enables me to monitor my sound quality and to adjust as necessary. Other recorders with similar capabilities should perform equally as well. All of my problems with recording calls, whether on cell phone or landline, have been solved. Thanks, Olympus!
