i was planning to the other expensiver version of the antenna, the other one looks exactly the same as this one, but a little more expensive. this one really works.

i can receive almost all the TV channels in my local area, there is one tv station that i can't receive. I was able to see that tv station with my old electrical powered rabbit ear antenna though.

Go buy some good old bunny ears

(1 out of 5) by S Cole on Oct 2, 2007 (Meridian, ID USA)
After getting sick of our ugly 20+ year-old bunny ear antenna we decided to install an antenna in the attic for the whole house. After reading the other 2 reviews we thought this looked like it would work great. First, we directly plugged it into one of the TVs on our main floor. Reception was OK. All the major channels came in, but only half were really good. Then we directly plugged it into one of the TVs on the second story. All the major channels came in really good. So, we got excited thinking, "Hey this will work!" We took it to the attic where my husband and I had to use an intercom to help him place it "just so" for the best reception. We now had really good stations on all the TVs in the house (like we had when we directly plugged it into the upstairs TV), but we only got half of the HD channels available for our HD-ready TV on the main floor. Bummer! We had had bunny ears hooked up to the HD-ready TV originally and it got all but 1 HD channel, so in desperation I suggested my husband take the bunny ears antenna to the attic and plug it in instead of this fancy antenna. VOILA!!! Instantly (without having to maneuver it or place it 'just so') we get all channels perfectly on all TVs and all the HD channels available for our HD-ready TV.
Long story short - Boy do we wish we had thought of this before and not wasted our money. We'll be throwing this item in the garbage... today!

Not as good as reviewed

(1 out of 5) by A. Kane on Mar 12, 2009
I first got just this antenna. It did improve viewing quality, but not to any degree that I had hoped for. My problem with digital tv is that the picture quality is good until it breaks up into tiny squares or freezes up and that includes the audio. I thought that this antenna would do the trick, but it didn't completely fix the problems which make viewing any program quite frustrating. I never had this problem with analog; just had crappy reception.
I have since purchased the amplifier to improve quality. Again, not a complete fix. And, with the amplifier, the picture quality is now diminished with faint lines that were not there before. However, I do have less problems with the picture freezing or breaking up.
Still, with my costs of buying the Tiva box, the Aspen antenna, and the amplifier, I was really hoping for a better user experience.

2-bay Uhf Antenna

(2 out of 5) by Richard E. Bittner on Mar 24, 2009 (Saginaw, TX United States)
I purchased this antenna after reading numerous reviews comparing it's capabilities with other HD/digital type antennas that are available. I was planning on using it for my multimedia PC to watch and record network TV. I built a stand from PVC so I could mount it high in the house and on the attic floor if necessary. I set the antenna up [...] and proceeded to program received channels. Once I was finished, I ended up with 2 less channels than I got with my $10 RCA rabbit ears! I tried it again after moving the antenna to different positions. The picture wasn't any better. I live in a metro area with most stations within 30-40 miles. I felt it should have gotten better reception than the rabbit ears! For the money, I'd say stick with the RCA rabbit ears.
