Kicker 06ZX1500.1 Class D Amplifier
(5 out of 5) by Christine Deyalsingh on Apr 27, 2008this amplifier is very powerful at 1500W RMS at 2 ohms, thats right 1500W RMS not 1500W Peak like some other manufacturers, this amp can easily power 2 - 2 ohm Solo Baric 12" L7s or 1 - 2 ohm Solo Baric 12" or whatever combination you choose.
this amp comes with a remote bass control, a 150A fuse, built in crossover and and is quite small actually but big on power, i believe the picture amazon has is of the ZX2500.1
in my install, i use the built in crossovers, bass boost and decided to store my kicker KX3 crossover in the closet and you would not believe that built in crossovers work this great, i didnt until i heard my system.
this system is in my 2000 4dr civic and is placed on the wall of the trunk on the right hand side. this amp gets very very hot but the heat sinks are very effective as this amp does not shut down on me. this amp has thermal protection, short circuit protection, soft start turn on and over current protection.
the gain, crossover and bassboost controls are mounted on top the amplifers with easy to use and easy to access knobs making those tight installs like mine simple. most gain controls are mounted on the side and you need a flathead screwdriver to adjust the gain, in my install i would have to take my amp off the wall to adjust the gain and other settings, i cant imagine a greater inconvenience.
overall a small amp(in terms of size NOT power), extremely powerful and great value for money.

Awesome buy.
(5 out of 5) by Elena M. Allen on May 26, 2008 (usa)This amp is great. I purchased this amp with a 12" sub. both of these were a test set. I am one of those brand specific types who used to always bad mouth other brands but I have been put in my place by this set up as of thursday after the install. This amp, like a few others, comes with what we call a birth sheet. It tells you the actual continous watts that particular amp puts out. My 1500 rms actually throws out 1668. It comes with a 150 amp in-line fuse, remote bass knob(great for quick turn down) and screws/allenwrench. Kicker does recommend using two inline fuses. One by the battery and one by the amp so if you get this get another fuse block. also it is suggested to have a 140 ampere or large alternator. This is true. If you have a small alternator than a cap isn't going to help at all. My envoy has a descent alternator with a 2 farad cap and might lights dim if I go over halfway with the bass. If I break down and upgrade my alternator then I will buy the kicker 2500.1 with another 12". :) I'm that impressed. If you want big power with out the JL price tag get this and do the math. JL 1000 rms for $650 or kicker 1600 rms for $350?
