Just don't do it..
As a networking professional, I have supported / troubleshooted many types of servers and networking products in both residential and commercial settings. I have to say that this particular router has to be the worst that I have seen for reliability and vendor support. I purchased this router along with the N1 wireless card. The card consistently froze with the Belkin wireless utility and speed tests were no better than the 56G wireless card it replaced. Belkin support could not resolve the issues with the card or the router from day 1 and they refused to replace the equipment. After 3 months the router has now failed completely. Having spent many hours on the phone and conversing online with their web support, I have decided to throw this $300 paperweight in the trash and go back to Linksys now Cisco. I have made the mistake once and I will never recommend a Belkin to another one of my customers. As a final note, I am not opposed to considering that this equipment was a lemon but in my opinion, support after the sale is key in my book and Belkin support did not get the job done to try to keep me as a customer.

Don't buy this router. Buy the regular N version.
I had my parents buy this router for their house, and it is simply horrible. It disconnects AIM, my work email and my VPN every 15minutes. The Linksys 802.11b I've had for years is better.
At my house I have the regular N version of this router (same black color, but with only 2 antennas), which I'm more than happy with. I'm definitely going to have my parents return this one and go with that.
If you only need this for email and web surfing, it will work, but for the money you can get another router that works for everything.

Belkin service abominable
Installed the Belkin N1 router, worked for 5 minutes, then ceased working. Contacted tech help, quickly diagnosed unit defective, they advised that someone would call me to arrange a swap.
That was before July 4. No one ever called, repeated calls by me elict promises of a call "shortly" but no one ever calls. The service is obviously being provided by an offshore company that seems to have underbid the project and can't fulfill customer promises.
Outrageous, bush-league performace from a company that presents itself as an industry leader.

Simply Didn't Work
Bought both the N1 router and the cards. Connection would come and go (mostly go), but when it was connected the range and speed, even with the N1 cards, was no better than standard g. Telephone customer service was typical for what has sadly become common in the consumer electronics industry. After upgrading the firmware, only to have the router continue to drop signals, I performed a hard reboot, and then it died for good. Thankfully, all of this occurred while I could still return it, so I was only out the eight hours or so I used to try to get the thing working. While this product does get some good reviews (particularly on CNET), which was why I bought it, it simply did not work for me. Not sure if that was due to all of the variables involved in home networks, or if some of the multiple versions of the N1 (mine was ver. 2000) perform better than others. I have since purchased and installed the NetGear RangeMax products and they are working flawlessly with the range and speed I was looking for.

DO NOT BUY THIS ROUTER!!!
I got this thing as a replacement for my Belkin Pre-N. MAJOR MISTAKE!
If you only need the Internet to check your email occasionally, this router is fine for you. However, if you count on your router for your business or need a consistent, reliable router this one should be ABSOLUTELY avoided.
It's like a kid's toy.
It worked fine for the first month, AND when it works, it works fine. BUT, as is well documented here on Amazon and on other sites (like CNET), this router WILL DROP THE MODEM'S SIGNAL AT LEAST ONCE A DAY.
I will set my computer to run tasks at night and wake up to find the signal had been lost in the night, then forced to tell my employer I did not finish my job because of "internet problems"-- sounds like a weak excuse. VERY EMBARRASSING.
And now it happens everyday. My employer is learning that I am NOT someone who can be counted on.
This is the first router I have ever owned that has COST ME MONEY.
If you are a working professional who depends on your computer system for your livelihood this router WILL MAKE YOU LOOK BAD, AND WILL CAUSE YOU DAILY PROBLEMS. THIS ROUTER WILL DAMAGE YOUR REPUTATION.
But hey, if you just want to check out the latest stories on TMZ and don't need reliability, go for it. On the occasions it works, it works great. Strong signal throughout the house AND the idiot lights on the front are genius. Why doesn't every router have those lights?
