5.8 Digital, walkie talkie function between each handset, specialized ring tones for numbers in your address book. One phone line used for 3 handsets, speakerphone, battery indicator and a room monitor. As usual, another great product from Uniden. And oh by the way, it's $87 at Walmart.

I bought these 3 bundled cordless phones at walmart. ($87) I am very impressed. The clarity is excellent. The range is great. I live in the city and can walk more than one city block away and still get reception. The features are nice. Different ring tones, room monitor, direct connect to another handset. My favorite feature is that you can program your contacts into one of the phones and then electronically send the phonebook data to the other 2 phones. Saves time!!!
Overall I am impressed. Best cordless phone I have ever purchased.

This phone is great if you do not need an answering machine and are moving to voip.
I also thought the $87 price at walmart was amazing/great if only they had the TRU9496 there for such a great price!
too bad uniden uniden did not make this compatible with 2-line and now I have to find a way to sell the thing.

I just switched to VOIP single line with a signature second number from digital two line system. I ordered this system then added 7 more accessory handsets for the maximum of 10. The only problem was I had to order the accessory handsets from another vendor and delivery was scattered. That delayed installation of the full system for about a week. These are very nice looking units. I particularly like the orange lighting. But the best feature of all is the ability to send saved contact numbers from one unit to the rest of them. If you've ever set up a system like this you know how time consuming it can be to program numbers into memory for multiple units. What you usually do is pick one or two to be your main extensions and keep your memory in them. This system eliminates having to make that choice. Now, when a new number comes in that I want to add, I just save it in the unit I happen to be holding and then send it on to the others. You have to send the number to each other unit individually. That's the ONLY drawback. It would be nice for them to have a choice of sending the new number to "all" at once. But if that's the only gripe I have, I can live with it.
Great quality phones

I purchased an older house and did not want to have new phone wiring done, it's way too expensive so I checked into cordless systems that only needed one part wired in. I read all the reviews and decided to go with this system. The Uniden 9460 is a great system. It works very well and the price was comparable to having just one new phone jack wired into the house. I am very pleased with the quality. I have not tested for distance so I can't answer there. I also have wireless internet service in the house and wireless house alarms and nothing conflicts.
