Excellent headset

Nov 4, 2006 - By Don Jones (Las Vegas, NV)

I'm very happy with this headset - I frequently review technology products for a column I write, and this is a product I was happy to actually purchase. The sound is clear (perhaps *slightly* tinny at times, but not often), and it connects wonderfully fast to my phone (a Cingular 8125). I particularly like the charger - it's small enough to be readily portable, so I don't have to lug yet another plug around. I can plu the charging stalk into the same USB-style charger my phone uses - two-in-one! Or, either of them can charge from my laptop, or even, I discovered, an iPod power brick. Nice. The headset is simple to operate. If I have one complaint, it's that the volume buttons are a bit touchy to hit without hitting the middle button and hanging up on someone, which means I'm often too scared to use the mute function (which requires a quick up/down volume tap sequence). That's maybe a quarter star off; otherwise, it's one of the nicer headsets I've used.

Excellent - works great with LG VX8300

Sep 3, 2006 - By H. Chan (Morgan Hill, CA United States)

The x3 performs great with my Verizon LG vx8300, including controlling the voice command features. [Note: I also have a Blueant Supertooth II which has some compatability problems with the LG vx8300, so i'm happy to see that the X3 doesn't have the same problems]

Design is great. It's very light and compact, the ear hook fits me fine and makes the phone quite secure. I guess it could get a little uncomfortable during long usage, but it's not bad.

Performance is good. Some LG vx8300 users have reported some echo. I experienced it the first time I used it too, but was able to elminate it through adjustments to the volume of both my phone and the X3. I'm able to hear loud and clear, and my callers do not report any issues with voice quality.

The multiple charging options are an excellent feature. I like the triple-use flexible "cord" that attaches to a USB port, the AC adapter and car adapter.

All in all, I think it's an excellent product and a great value. Highly recommended.

Disappointed...

Jul 13, 2006 - By A_CA

I bought this bluetooth headset for my Sprint Treo 700p after reading excellent reviews on the net. Very impressed with the charging options included inthe box: USB charger, Car charger, and AC wall charger. Paired easily.

The real test came during usage. I had some issues with the earhook fitting around my ear, it kept popping out of my ear and after fumbling with it I still did not get a good fit. I have small ears and the 2 earhooks included were both same sizes. I could take off the earhook completely and just plug the earpiece in my ear but don't feel good about not having an extra security provided by the earhook.

I had to turn down the volume on the Treo and turn up the volume on the headset so that people could hear me. It doesn't have a noise-canceling feature. They said I sounded "far away". Picks up on wind noise from driving on Los Angeles freeway, even with slow traffic and a light breeze, the headset picks it up.

I wish there was an option on my phone so that when I'm connected to the BT headset, the ringtone rings in the headset and not on BOTH devices. Also when my phone is set to vibrate, the phone vibrates and I hear beeps in the headset.

Overall, I'm impressed with the design, the lightness (10gm) of the BT headset but it's not for me. Maybe it works great for other people. You'll have to try it for yourself and decide.

Not Worth the Money !!

Jan 28, 2007 - By Sandip Patel

I did a lot of research before buying a bluethooth device.
This one looked like a decent one, i bought if for $39.99. Few good reviews and three chargers and nice look made me buy this one.

I had this unit for more than two months now. I would say I am not so impressed with it.

Pros:

1> Looks Decent
2> Fits nice on the ears and light weight.
3> Connect to all phones i have tried so far.

Cons:

1> The sound quality is mediocre. It sounds like you are playing a Audio Cassette. Lots of my friends complained they can't hear me.
2> The range is hardly two feet or so. I have to hold my phone in my hands while talking with bluetooth. If i put the phone in my pocket the voice has noticeable noise.
3> The advertised USB/Car/Wall charger are not three different devices, it is a USB charger that plugs in to car charger or wall charger, so you can only use one at a time.

In sort, the product is not as advertised, it is over priced, get this if you can buy it for $ 19 bucks, anything more is way too much for this one.

awesome

Oct 18, 2006 - By Amy Ng (Los Angeles)

i checked so many sites looking for reviews on a good bluetooth, with the options ranging to almost 50 different kinds it was hard to choose. But i found the reviews for this Australian brand to be outstanding. I didn't want to spend a grip like some of the other bluetooth headsets out there for an easy $90-140. I charged it 4 hrs as indicated by the manual, paired up to my sony k800i in a matter of seconds. easy as pie. i was able to make very clear calls and the other party hears me perfectly. which is very important to me. i recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap, small and long battery life bluetooth.
