Light weight Basic Monocular

(5 out of 5) by Maaz Gazdar on Jul 20, 2009 (England)
I used the Brunton Monocular on a recent trip with my nieces and nephews. It is simple to use, and they enjoyed the clear view from it.

This is not a serious monocular in any sense, but it's good for days out when you just want to see something a bit more clearly without having to walk all the way there.

Its lightweight and compact size means you can keep it anywhere without really feeling it.

7 x 18 Echo

For the price, this was such a good deal. It's only a 7x, but it really brings things into focus that otherwise could barely be seen. We live on a ranch and it has saved me a lot of miles in checking on animals. So much easier to carry than the 7x binoculars (which never got carried), it's about the same size as a 2oz hand samitizer bottle, and comes with a nice little pouch. My husband perfers a higher magnification, but I tend to have a little hand shake so this is just right.

nice to have

Excellent for Beginner Ninjas

Perfect in that it is absolutely small, good clarity, very light, seems durable enough and super cheap for pretty freakin decent quality!

I got this to toss into my messenger bag and I had at the same time purchased a slightly larger, supposedly better (and more pricey) second monocular (i wanted to slide one into a slim pocket in the messenger bag) and found this cheaper and smaller monocular to be extraordinarily the better of the two.

You will totally be stunned when you realize you got it for so cheap.

It does it's job, especially for the price.

This review is for the Brunton Echo 7x18 monocular.

I'm the inventory manager in a large manufacturing company, and we have hundreds of materials organized in racks up to 15 feet in height.
Every pallet and box has a label with part numbers and specifications.
I used to have to climb on a ladder to read labels and verify materials, or bring the pallet down to look at it. I tried several monoculars but none focused close enough for me to read the fine print on a label that's just 6 feet above my head.
This scope allows me to read small print on something 20 feet away, so it saves me many minutes of climbing and forklift driving. It is now one of my many tools of my job.
I recommend this scope for anyone who needs this type of capability.
