Extending The Senses of a Non-hearing Person

(5 out of 5) by Glenn Guillory, SFO on Feb 13, 2008 (Glenmora, LA United States)
I met my deaf pen pal, Braz, online. We've been friends for years. I began sending him birthday presents and Christmas gifts when he was a teenager, an ambitious creativity guy. Well, for his 21st birthday I didn't know what to get him. I thought, I love my earphones I got online, major major beauty of sound, and thought HOW CAN I ENHANCE MY FRIEND'S SENSES? Duh!? Well, his eyes work good! So, I sent this Burunton Echo 7X18 pocket scope to him, and he raves about it now. He sees things in more detain that were just on the fringe of his vision acuity zone...now his visual expertise is enhanced when and where he wants it to be using the handy scope which he keeps with him all the time. It works for hearing people too, but I wanted to put a little LIGHT on the idea for the wonderful feeling of being given a gift that was personalized in it's thoughtfulness to my friend, "Nephew" Braz...

He uses it every day. He rated it five stars.

It's a gem

(4 out of 5) by P. Liu on Feb 8, 2008
This is a gem. Because of it's capability to focus as close as 15 inches, it's my favorite companion in the museum. It's also very sharp and compact. I just love it!

Pocket Scope

(5 out of 5) by Linda Miller on Jan 16, 2008
The Brunton Echo 7x18 Pocket Scope is just what I was looking for. The scope travels with me in my purse and is alway handy. It replaced a monocular I had used for over 10 years. The new Brunton Echo works very well and is easy to use. It made a unusal gift this holiday season and was appreciated by all.

Good for the price

(4 out of 5) by John Foster on Sep 15, 2007 (Outer Space)
Very small, comes with nice case and micro-fiber cleaning cloth, good for viewing details at distance, short focal length is very nice, but - useless in low-light conditions. Pre-war German or Swiss optics this is not.....
For the price, I can't complain.

I am pretty happy with this monocular. I think the build and optics quality are good considering the price.
