A Good TV

(5 out of 5) by A. Terry on Nov 29, 2007 (Baghdad, IQ)
I have owned this TV for 11 months now and I like it very much. The picture is very good for SD. A good antenna will help you receive digital channels that look very nice. I paid $400 for it at best buy. If you have the money to get an HD LCD than do the research and get one. If you want a cheaper, bulkier (112 lbs.), but good TV then this one is pretty good. My place is pretty small and with my Toshiba upconverting DVD player works nicely and like the picture. My old TV was from the 80's so this was a great improvement. I'll probably upgrade to an LCD in a couple years depending on how low the prices get.

Great for SDTV / Directv digital signal

(5 out of 5) by thehez on Aug 14, 2007 (Waterford CT USA)
If you are not quite ready to go to HD signal, this is a great option. I have Directv....all digital signal. I bought this set at Best Buy some months ago for 399. Wait for it to come down in price. Flat screen, but a little heavy. Great sound. Use the S video and audio jacks from your box to the TV....it's great. Front audio video jacks also!

Great TV

I've owned this tv since Jan 07, and like it alot. I bought it when best buy had them for 399 at their local store. It has all that I need. I only have standard Directv (not HD) and my dvd player and dvd recorder are not HD, so I didn't think I would need a HDTV. If I want better sound, I hit a few things on my Pioneer stereo that is patched up to my system. Also this already has the ATSC / QAM Digital Tuner which will be required next year. I also have a Samsung 26 inch hdtv, which is great, will hook it up to my computers tv tuner card someday.

Great TV

I bought this tv for $499 because I didn't want to spend $1000 or more on an lcd or plasma, but I wanted the ability to watch movies and shows in a widescreen format. The picture clarity is very good for a non-high def picture, particularly if you have a good digital source [dvd player(S-video looks like HD), satellite, digital cable, even a good digital antenna]. Heavy, but not nearly as heavy as my last 32 inch tv. I can carry this one and move it around by myself. Overall...very satisfied with this purchase.
