I really like this cd player. The 1GB storage face plate is great. Like others have said who rated this, it will not play .wav files saved in lossless format. It will play .wav files and mp3 files great.
great deck
I recently purchaced the sony mex 1 gigaplate sterio. It was easy to install, had lots of great features, and the price was great!!
The 1 gig face plate was easy to load on my VISTA computer and now I have 150 songs at my fingertips. I havnt used the cd player because i was able to load all my best cd's into the unit.

Happy!
I saw this item in many stores for at least double the price I paid. Excellent service and fast shipping. The radio works perfect for my needs.

Sony MEX car receiver
This is a tank! It doesn't look like a light show but the sound quality and ease of operation makes it a winner. Sony make several base models for the car. The give each one certain features allowing the buyer to choose one that fits his needs. It capably drives a Sony 10 disk changer. The Mex1GPcomes with a wireless remote, plays MP3 music and has a state of the art hush quiet amplifier. One very neat feature in this unit is a 1Gb flash memory built into the detachable face allowing transfer of mp3 from your computer to the head unit by simply bringing the detachable face into your home office and attaching via USB cable (supplied). You can store up to 500 songs! Talk about high quality audio, this unit operates quietly wth a 100 Db+ silence. The model number may change, but the Sony head units always keep the precision and quality technology affords.
no replacement
I purchased the radio and installed according to manufacture instructions. After one week of use the unit failed,I contacted Sony and was advised I should send it back for a replacement.I returned the item,
within 3-5 days I was contacted by sony service and told there is no replacement available.Although I wasn't told ,I believe the unit is obsolete.
