Very impressive. Big sound from a small system

(4 out of 5) by Joey E. Trude on Nov 18, 2006 (Yountville, CA United States)
I was uncertain at first if the quality of sound from this small system would do the XM radio justice. I was very impressed after I hooked up the system and heard the quality sound radiate from the Altec system.
I decided on Altec due to its size (bigger Boomboxes are available but space hogs). Its stylish design fits nicely on my bookshelf and it's clean design goes well with any decor.
One thing purchasers need to be aware of is that the antenna needs to be placed close..really close, to a window to receive the satellite signal. I have'nt found anything negative to say about this system, well done Altec Lansing. I'm giving it 4 stars simply for the fact I would have liked to seen more user controls on the system.

neat package

(5 out of 5) by PenMangler on Jul 11, 2007 (alabama, US of A)
There is a lot of quality sound that comes from this little box. I use it in my woodshop and can hear crystal clear all over the basement. So far it's put up with the dust without a blink. One thing though, you will have to get close to or actually outside with the antenna. It doesn't pick up well inside a house. Once that's settled, it's a fine and convenient product that does what it is advertised to do. BTW, Amazon had it cheaper than anyone else at the time.

UpDATE: Oct 22,08. This item has been in the woodshop for over a year now. It has gotten plenty dusty. I just run a vacuum across it now and then and it hasn't missed a beat...pardon the pun. Still going strong. Also, the antenna I put outside is still where I put it and the weather has not affected it at all. Still sounds great with my Roady XT.

Works better than advertised

(4 out of 5) by actortunerfred on Jul 25, 2008 (Lancaster, CA United States)
Even though the description did not expressly indicate that it can accomodate the XpressEZ Model, I took a chance. Voila! It fits and functions just fine. The tone quality is ok and the volume output is far greater than its size would lead you to expect.Audiovox Car XMCK5 XpressEZ Satellite Radio Receiver w/ SureConnect

I have had this for a few months and I have no complaints. The sound is great and as long as you have a good path to southern sky. Quality is excellent.

Awesome Home XM Radio System

(5 out of 5) by James C. Caul on Mar 8, 2007 (Newnan, GA USA)
I am amazed with the quality of sound from this small component. You can take it anywhere to enjoy XM Radio wherever you go. I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking about buying this to complement their home XM Radio. Jim/Newnan, GA
