A little heavier than I expected ( PLAYDOCK weighs about 16 pounds ), and obviously quite well built, so it's sturdy if not terribly "mobile." The PLAYDOCK is the answer if you want to listen to music with your non-IPOD MP3 player out loud, without earphones. This thing thumps, too - nice low bass, with good seperation of sound ( although I find the "wide" setting makes the seperation a little too exaggerated so I use it in normal mode.) It also functions as a power dock, so it charges the MP3 player while not in use. Best of all I didn't have to read an entire manual to use it - it went from box to desk-top use in about 5 minutes. Highly recommended.

The Cambridge speaker system is by far the best I have heard. I needed something that was loud and clear enough to play outside for cookouts and at the beach when there are large groups spread out. The speakers I had before just didn't do the job. I've used the playdock 3 times since the purchase and the system has sold itself to a couple of people already. I'm not sure exactly how long a full charge will last because I haven't run it down yet. At full volume, I've gotten over 5 hours so far.
