Great DVD burner

(5 out of 5) by Doit2it on Jan 11, 2007 (Madison, TN United States)
I had a Plextor 740A that I bought locally refurbished. They must not have gotten the kinks out because it burned at 4x max (rated 16x). No it wasn't the blank disks. I bought this drive to replace the other. Working perfect so far except I tried burning a DVD at 16x using a 16x blank DVDr and the playback was jumpy. Dropped back to next slower speed and copy was perfect. Hmmmmm

Awsome Drive

(5 out of 5) by Jackson Banks on Apr 27, 2007 (So Cal)
I have had this drive for near a year now and only had one bad burn. . . I banged the desk the computer was on when that happed as well. When I just built a new computer this past weekend. I knew this drive was going in thier to top it off.

This drive is a great cost effective burner untill HD-DVD and/or BluRay start catching on.

Great burner at an economic price

(5 out of 5) by Joshua Flail on Mar 4, 2007 (Atlanta, GA USA)
I highly recommend this burner and all of the Plextor burners. This is especially great for the price. I've had no burn errors thus far in my use of the product. If you have a bit more cash, I would recommend purchasing the Plextor PX-760A, which is rated at 18x. However, I never burn at the maximum speed to ensure the best quality. Amazon offers about the same price for the product and shipping as the plextor website.
