Not a quality product

(1 out of 5) by C. WILSON Griffin on Mar 8, 2010
I owned this product for a VERY short period of time and it completely stopped functioning. I contacted TrendNet and they happily offered to exchange it, and the 2nd one also went out after a few weeks. Their response? They'd be happy to send me another one. I work in our firm's Technology Department and I've never seen quality KVM switches go back this fast. They product is shoddy and Amazon should consider dropping it.

hardware switch is great

(5 out of 5) by S. Potter on Feb 16, 2010
switches KVM well between a laptop and a tower. I love the hardware switch with 2 buttons instead of hitting scroll lock or some other keyboard trick. Comes with all the needed cables, and is ready to use right our of the boxk,

2 of these work great with 2 monitors

(5 out of 5) by J. Green on Feb 13, 2010 (CA)
I've have two of these switching two monitors between two XP Pro PCs (one IBM and one HP) with a Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse for almost a year now. I just arbitrarily plugged the keyboard/mouse USB cable into one switch and 98% of the time both monitors as well as the keyboard and mouse switch via the hot key.

As I had expected to have to switch the second monitor manually I was very happy to discover how well this setup works.

The only time I have to use the manual buttons is when I get impatient and try to use the mouse before it is finished switching. One manual switch usually resets the whole setup. I've only had the switches fail completely once and I use them five days a week, probably making 30 or 40 switches per day.

I did have to turn off the USB device connection sound on both PCs as it was driving me crazy...

Sharing Monitor,Keyboard and Mouse between 2 PC'S

(5 out of 5) by UKBILL on Jan 30, 2010 (Illinois,)
If you need to share a monitor between 2 PC'S this is the product for you. I have 1pc running XP and the other running WIN98 and the TRENDnet KVM switch box allows me to switch the Monitor,Keyboard and Mouse between the 2 without any problems. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Horrible product

(1 out of 5) by Vidya Kannan on Jan 28, 2010 (Seattle, WA)

I bought this item about six months ago (Sept 2009). It barely last till the end of the year.

The screen started turning redish in Dec 09 a due to some malfunction of the wire and by January it just stopped working altogether.
