You need a thinner mousepad yesterday. This one's it.

(5 out of 5) by D. Christian Campbell Jr. on Aug 14, 2007 (Gainesville, FL USA)
I'd known for a couple years that I needed a good mousepad. My eyes were open and I kept trying what I could find. None was thin enough. My biggest problems had always been my wrist being unduly elevated relative to the keyboard and my wrist resting on the near edge of the mousepad, constricting my circulation and nerves. I was ready to buy; I just needed to know where to put my money.

Then one night my friend was over. I forget whether I first was lamenting my mousepad defeats or he was just effusing over his recent purchase, but one way or another he told me about this WOW!PAD he'd found. Number one point: it's thin. My years' search was over: an hour later I'd bought it on Amazon, and when I used it two days later I immediately knew I'd scored the jackpot.

I highly recommend this mousepad to anyone who has ever considered that he might have need of a better mousepad. This mousepad is so thin, you can even position part of it under your keyboard to minimise the space between your mouse and keyboard (that is, make it so that your wrist is entirely over the mousepad in all places where you'd run the mouse). Even if you rest your wrist on the edge of the mousepad, the constriction it creates is very slight.

An added bonus is the graphic design on the surface gives the optical mouse great "traction." I never would have considered need for a more accurate positioning to be amoung my problems, but now that I've experienced glitchless mousing I understand that that also maximises productivity.

If you're worried about the huge size of this version, I'd say don't worry. The cost of the extra size is marginal, and I'm very glad I went with the larger size. It's great just having mousepad everywhere you try to mouse. Edges are not something you should have to deal with.

One tip: if the mousepad lifts up a bit when you try to lift your hand off it, a long strip magnet on the side farthest from your keyboard will keep the mousepad anchored to your metal keyboard tray.

Now, I guess I need to search for a lower profile mouse...

No Good!

(1 out of 5) by J. Capuchino on Jul 20, 2007
When you think of a mouse pad, you think of the word "pad". This is a piece of thin plastic with a design on it which didn't work wonders for me. Your better off using a old newspaper. Sure maybe most mice dont need a pad anymore but if you can stand the sound of your mouse scraping along this products surface then be my guest. Also, mine came damaged with a big marker point size dent in the middle. Was not impressed or even slightly satisfied. I advise the seller to be more clear in the description of this product. And I advise buyer to shop in person!

Bad Traction for mouse on overpriced pad

(1 out of 5) by busapp on Nov 6, 2007 (Berkeley)
The ad for this pad seemed so wonderful, I could not resist. Upon receipt I find this pad to be really overpriced and over-hyped. It is less good than older pads costing much less. Do not be drawn into the hype for this pad.

Not good for mechanical mice

(1 out of 5) by Walter Coole on Oct 4, 2007 (Petaluma, CA United States)
Despite the claims of "For Use With Optical or Standard Mouse Pads", it's too slippery for my ball mouse to grip, which sort of misses the point of a mouse pad. It may work for optical mice, but those aren't supposed to need a pad.

I'm still a little vague as to why I'd want to use a mouse pad with my mouse pad, but I'll chalk that up to the usual lack of proofreading in Amazon product descriptions.
