These speakers surprised me quite a bit. I have installed other 4x6's in several vehicles before and never been very impressed with the way they sound. Other 4x6's I have heard have a tendency to distort easily, and many seem to sound "tinny" or harsh at high volume. These speakers do not exhibit any of these problems. I have 300Hz passive crossovers installed in-line with these speakers, and likely that helps the clarity of these speakers quite a bit. I have sub-woofers for the lows so I do not need these speakers to play low frequencies, and most likely I would not be as satisfied with these speakers as I am, if I did have them playing low frequencies. The speakers sound exceptionally clear playing mids and highs, and compared to the factory 10ohm speakers that these replaced, these 4ohm speakers play a lot louder, while still sounding clear. I am very happy with these speakers, installation was a snap. with the supplied adapter rings, these speakers fit my vehicle perfectly. Overall an excellent speaker, and a great replacement for any factory speaker.

These speakers are very good for mid and high frequencies, but there is just no way a 4X6 speaker can pump out tight bass. I used these in conjunction with a small powered sub that fits in the rear seat foot well and the system sounded complete at any volume, playing any genre music or even talk radio. If your vehicle won't accept a larger speaker, these will do, but you need something extra for bottom end and maybe even consider adding extra tweeters for crisper high end.
