Big improvement

(5 out of 5) by Richard G. Smith on Aug 31, 2007 (Oklahoma)
After years of using my TV audio instead of a center channel speaker (with the annoyance of setting separate volume controls for balance), I finally broke down and ordered this speaker to complement my older JBL speakers (main, surround, and subwoofer). The speaker fits convenienly on top of the TV (Sony "Grand Wega") and I'm very pleased with the big improvement in the sound results, especially for Dolby Digital movie tracks.

Great center channel for CS series

(5 out of 5) by D. Wilson on Aug 28, 2007 (Chattanooga, TN United States)
This speaker is perfectly voice matched with the CS tower speakers. For DVDs, I would highly recommend this speaker over others. It shares the same silver/black finisn as the other speakers in this series.

completing the CSC system

(4 out of 5) by D. JOHNSTON on Jan 17, 2009 (Vancouver, BC)
So having the CST55's and a CSS55 for roughly two years using the TV as a center channel, I finally put the CSC55 in. I use the theater system only on my PS3 to game and watch movies in VIA the fiber optic cable.

In regards adding the matching center channel to the towers, I find that it really brings out the midrange more and fills the room with a more natural sound. Immediately I noticed with movies that voices were far clearer and balanced. For gaming, I can't believe I went so long without it as the power of sound that this speaker produces it unbelievable.

Visually, this unit as it is a very sleek and attractive. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it lacks and product documentation or hardware for wall mounting.

Pretty nice.

(4 out of 5) by Chudilo on Nov 7, 2007 (Brooklyn, NY USA)
I am replacing my older JBL ec35 with this one due to size constraints of my flat-screen. This speaker is just about as deep as a wall-mounted flatscreen.
The front grille doesn't cover the whole front. Looks a bit strange.

Sound quality seemed similar to the ec35.
Although midrange seemed more crisp as this speaker has the larger speakers for midrange, where on the ec35 it was a smaller cone.
Voice reproduction seemed a bit more sharp then on EC35 (however I've also switched the room since I heard the EC35 last so my opinion might be skewed.
