stress relief
I commute on 580 and 80 every day, and take back roads when I know there will be traffic on the freeway. The exits for the back roads are well before the parts of the freeway that get clogged. If I guess there will be light traffic, and it ends up being heavy, it's too late to take the back roads. This is frustrating and stressful. The Traffic Gauge changes that, so I now know well in advance that 80 will be hosed up at Ashby, or that the Caldecott is at a standstill. The result is a lot less stress and anxiety, and a lot fewer traffic surprises. This is great! HIghly recommended!

TrafficGauge Rocks!
I bought TrafficGauge to help with my commute from Berkeley to Mountain View and it's been a huge help. Having real-time traffic info in the car while I'm driving allows me to choose between various route alternatives and avoid the worst of the commute traffic. Even when I do get stuck in traffic, being able to see how long the backup is going to last makes the delay much less stressful. I'd say TrafficGauge saves me 10-20 minutes each way out of a 50-60 minute commute--well worth the 6 bucks a month!

A great product that saves time
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and I have a very long commute to work. I have found the traffic gauge invaluable in helping me choose which routes to take to and from work everyday. It's well worth the cost. It's great when you are on the road to be able to see in real time where the traffic hotspots are. I used to call on the phone to get the local traffic update. It's a hassle because you have to dial, sometimes your voice commands aren't understood and you have to hear a bunch of information that you aren't interested in. With this device there are no phone calls to make, no wasting time listening to stuff you don't want to hear, just glance at the traffic gauge and know in real time what is going on. They also have an internet version of the product that you can download to your computer. It's nice to take a look at this before leaving home or work to help you see the traffic hotspots before you get on the freeway. I highly recommend this product, escpecially if you have a long commute or can choose multiple routes to get to your destination.
