Belkin 15N1 Card Reader Reads Everything+Lifetime Warranty

(5 out of 5) by Wavey Davey on Apr 16, 2007 (Southern CA, USA)
I've been using this 15N1 card reader with my G5 PowerMac, iBook, and PowerBook, and it's worked 100% great for the past year. Like most Belkin products, it comes with a Lifetime Warranty, so you're covered forever against defects, problems. It always mounts my SD Cards and CompactFlash Cards instantly, and the "On" or "Activity Light" is big and bright, so you know when data is being accessed. I was surprised at its size: it's about 3" x 1.5" by .5" so it's very compact considering all the types of media it can take. The Mini-USB plug-in port is on the back, not the side, which is a good design. The Mini-USB to Device Plug-in cord is 6 feet long, which is complete overkill but excellent...I've never seen a card reader with a 6 ft cord before! There's a plug-in port for powering the reader up, although there's no AC/DC converter furnished. Apparently that's an option, though not required for use. In my experience it works great off of the USB 2.0 bus power. 5 Stars for this one!

Lame, outdated product. Support 2GB cards and under only

(1 out of 5) by C. Duncan on Jan 28, 2009 (San Francisco, CA)
It does not support media cards over 2GB. This information should be part of the technical details/specs of the unit. No one should have to read consumer reviews to find this out. Belkin is now off my list as a peripheral product provider.

The reader works only on cards smaller that 1GB !!!!
However they do not mention it anywhere. Very disappointing.

Well worth its price! This is the quickest and most efficient way to load your photos from the camera to the computer. Especially if you use large files such as camera raw. Buy one today. You'll be glad you did.

Don't get this reader if you have 4GB+ SD HC cards.
