Best value for the price

(5 out of 5) by Varun Vaidya on Jul 19, 2006
This is a great powerful laptop.
Pros -
Attractive looks
Thin and light weight
64 bit processor
DVD burner included

Cons -
512 RAM (256 + 256) Difficult to upgrade since both the slots are occupied.
Heats-up quickly. Touch pad is very warm sometimes.

Good Computer

It is a good computer at a good price. Better than my Dell that cost twice as much when you add up everything that came with it.

Laptop's PSU failed within a month, but got replacement quickly

(4 out of 5) by Jose Elias on Aug 28, 2006 (Santiago, Dominican Republic)
I'd have given this Laptop 3 stars had it not been for the good replacement policy we got from the seller. Basically, the power supply unit on this laptop failed within the first month of use for no aparent reason, however the seller was very prompt and replaced the defective PSU right away.

As for the laptop itself, it is very nice in a nice form factor (not too large or too small).

The only bad thing is that I noticed windows tells me that it has only 384MB of RAM, which is wrong because the specs on amazon claime it has 512MB RAM, however before I rush to conclussions my guess is that the other 128MB are probably allocated to the video card (which in any case is missleading advertising), so I'll take a look at that and see what's going on.

thoughts on this fine fine unit

(5 out of 5) by phony01 on Jan 24, 2007 (mpls)
I've had this little guy for just about a year now. Works great, takes a beating. The battery could last a little longer, and 512 ram isn't enough to do much when the video takes 128 of it. I've recently upgraded the memory & now there's nothing it can't do well.
I heartily recommend this wonderful device. Take it on vacation, take it to work, take it to Gramma's.
Get one!

since its refurbished, it worked properly for a while now its doing something strange that has to do with the video card where everything turns blue and shuts off and the distributer will not help me get it fixed.
