I've found the Cobra brand to be the best "reasonably" priced detectors out there. This one consistantly picks up our friends in uniform about 1/2 to a mile away. Not too many false signals. If you want LASR warning.... forget it. It's always too late no matter what you buy.

EASY INSTALLATION. GREAT PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE. INSTALLED UNIT LAST NIGHT...SAVED ME TWICE TODAY! UNIT IS A BIT SENSITIVE, HOWEVER, EASY TO DIFFER FALSE ALARMS.

I travel on the Atlanta area freeways frequently and it has already saved me a couple of times.

This is my second radar detector from Cobra, the first one I had worked fine but within a year the speaker blew in it. I hope this one does not do the same. This radar detector is nice I really like the compass feature. My only complaint is that you get false alerts, not alot but enough to bother me, but when it is supposed to alert me it DOES, so I'm not complaining too much. I bought my wife a cheaper one by Whisler and it works great, no false reads, but it doesn't have a compass :-(
All and all this is not a bad detector.

POP mode(LCD display and voice activated)goes off when not always in use by police radar. Confusing and inaccurate.
