GREAT product

(5 out of 5) by J. Nye on Jun 26, 2007
These labels are GREAT. I own my own video production company and I've been using these labels for 4 years now. They are very thick paper stock and fit my DVD cases perfect. I highly recommend the labels.

Decline In Quality

(3 out of 5) by W. Perry on May 14, 2009 (OKC, OK,USA)
These case inserts have always been perfectly sized for the task and print well. I have used them for years. BUT in the last couple of years, the perforations have changed. The excess areas do not tear away as easily as they used to. It takes about twice as long to tear away the excess (you have to do some pre-emptive folding on the perf line) & you are constantly fighting little pieces that make the edges ragged. This is based on several purchases over the course of a couple of years, not just one bad batch. I recently used an insert from an old package I found in a drawer and the "tear away" difference was very obvious. The old perf line split with just a slight tug (you did not even have to pre-fold) but it never split during printing. I stil endorse them and will keep using them, but the previous editions were of higher functional quality.

A little too Matte

(3 out of 5) by Chad N. Walker on Dec 16, 2008 (NYC, USA)
I thought the paper was going to be a glossy, instead is was a matte finish. Still worked for my need but looked a little less professional than what I thought I was getting.

These inserts are great

(5 out of 5) by Gene W. Cole on Aug 29, 2008
Memorex provides free download software to use with these inserts. What they don't tell you is the case inserts paper size is A4. I have used these for about three years now and have created hundreds on perfect inserts on both HP and Brothers printers. The only errors were my own. Be sure the paper in loaded properly and paper guide is properly adjusted. Be sure the printer knows the proper paper size, A4 for DVD inserts and Letter for disc labels. Other poto paper setting works best. Enjoy your personalized inserts and display with pride.

Warning! Does not fit in Slim-Line DVD Cases!

(1 out of 5) by Matthew R. Jones on May 21, 2009
The product description for this item states: "Each insert is specially die-cut to fit in either standard or slim DVD storage cases."

Amazon seems to have changed their description recently, but every other vendor selling this product still lists it this way (including the Memorex online store).

Unfortunately, these inserts DO NOT work in slim DVD cases! I thought that I just misunderstood how the "special die-cut" worked so I contacted Memorex Customer Service. I received the following response:

"Thank you for contacting Memorex Technical Support. Unfortunately, there are no directions to know how to put the label on your slim case. All you need to do is measure your slim case and then cut the label so it can fit your case. I apologize for the inconvenience."

So apparently Memorex's idea of "specially die-cut" is me pulling out a pair of scissors and cutting the insert down to size.

I do like the weight of the paper and the perforations are good. I just wish the product would have been described more honestly before I purchased.
