Thin & Flimsy Optical Digital Cable

(2 out of 5) by K. Wessling on Sep 24, 2008 (Augusta, GA)
The picture does not represent the product the vendor sends. The picture looks like the heavier duty Opticla cables that are made by Belkin, Monster, and some other companies. What you get is a thin about 1/8" OD cable. It works, but it does not Click firmly into Optical Digital sockets and is not likely to withstand much stress over time. You get what you pay for. If you want better, I'd suggest the Belkin cable.

Works fine but not a solid connection

(4 out of 5) by Kenneth Wexler on Jul 28, 2008
Works just fine as I'm getting good sound, but I noticed it doesn't "click in place" as solidly as the version I bought and returned to Radio Shack. Since it works fine, I'm fine paying way less than the $17 RS wanted (and do note this was considerably lower than the $50 ABT wanted).

Great cable!!

Wow these cables are great, for the price and come gold plated. They seem very durable also, with plenty of thickness and shielding.

Works fine

(5 out of 5) by D. Conroy on Aug 23, 2009 (Cleveland, OH USA)
I'm very happy with these cables. A lot of people have this strange idea that "digital cables" need to be incredibly expensive, but they clearly don't. It's either gonna work, or it's not, and by "not" work, I mean you'll either hear nothing, or your audio will be on and off, broken up. This cable works fine, and it appears to be MUCH higher quality than an optical cable I received with my sound card.\

I don't care what anyone says, you will not hear a "difference in audio quality" between a cheap, and expensive optical cable. The data is being sent digitally as light pulses - you don't get good or bad light pulses.. they either make it from one end to the other, or they don't. You will not hear a difference in quality. You will either hear sound, or NO sound. That is what digital means - 1 or 0, on or off.

Cheap, works well, no problems. Don't ever buy some overpriced digital cable, based on "quality" lies.

i use this cable to connect my HDTV to my A/V receiver. it works great. not sure why anyone would pay more for essentially the same thing.
