SLR, I'm new to this, but!

I purchased the Sony 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Compace Super Telephoto Zoom Lens for it. I've taken wild life, landscapes, luna, and celestial pictures. I have been amazed are the sharpness of the photos. I would recommend it to a friend.

This lens is worth every dollar
(5 out of 5) by Kevin on Apr 6, 2008 (Flushing)Dont let this lens fool you.yes, it's plastic on the outside and glass on the inside.But it is of very high quality optically for the price you will not be disappointed I spent more on the Canon 40D with the 28-135 kit lens with IS and even on the sharpest settings this camera the A200 and 75-300 F4.5-5.6 smokes it in image quality the 300 end is a little soft but if you stop it down to f8 it sharpens up ...Not as sharp as the 70-300G ssm but a good budget lens until you can afford the G LENS

Great results, perfect for beginners

I'm super happy with the results this lens gives me, sharp, noiseless, and strong colors. I don't agree that the zoom takes that long. It's not in millisec, but it doesn't disturb. I'm very happy.

Great authentic product, great price

Great long range lens

The autofocus works quite well and aquires the focus pretty fast.
I was impressed with its zoom ability from the long range. With the anti-shake features of the camera I managed to take some outstandin long range shots without the use of tripod. Although I would strongly recommend one if you intend on doing long shots during limited lighting conditions.
The price of this lens is a little higher than I would like to pay. If you are a novice or amatuer photographer, you might be better off getting a lens that offers more abilities than this long range medium lens.
Either way you will find that this lens does has a home for you.
