Excellent result for Sirius radio reception

(5 out of 5) by John W. Toliver on Oct 16, 2008
It's rare these days to be able to give five stars to an electronic component.

I went from 2-3 bars to 10 bars with this product.

The only thing I would mention is that at least a 3/8" hole is needed to get the cable outside. You will either have to drill a hole or leave your window open as this cable is almost as thick as a regular coaxal cable (like a TV cable).

Also, you need to use oversized (head) screws because the mounting holes are designed to use U-bolts. Mounting screws and U-bolts for pole mounting are provided.

The boom the antenna is mounted on is adjustable by a few turns of a phillips head screw. I did not measure it, but the boom appears to be about 10"to 12".

This gave me plenty of room to clear my gutter.

Update 11-2-08. Working great.

A Must For Home Use

(5 out of 5) by Steve Jafolis on May 12, 2007 (Boston, MA)
Sirius was being optimistic with its antenna that comes with their home kit. Aiming it became a ritual; aim it towards the couch (perfect signal) then drop outs two hours later. Then aim it at the TV (perfect signal, then drop outs again). Repeat above.

Replaced that antenna with this roof top model. Then excellent reception, all day, all the time. Worth every penny. I mounted it on an old sat antenna pole and used the sat combiner/splitter kit (Sirius brand, Monster has one identical) to make use of the existing sat cable. No new wiring! It will work with the new 5 LNB DirecTV dish wiring to boot.

A More Sirius Antenna

(4 out of 5) by E. G. Zepeda on Jan 10, 2007 (San Antonio, TX USA)
This antenna improved reception indoors and out. The small antenna included with the radio and boom box lost the signal easily due to trees- there are a lot here and more out camping. Although not perfect, it is a great improvement over the standard antenna.

WOW - What a Difference !!!

(5 out of 5) by D. Ward on Mar 5, 2008 (So, Cal)
Bought this for my new home stereo receiver that has Sirius on it. This item has worked perfectly. I have had NO signal loss at all. My wife and I each have Sirius plug & plays in our cars as well as the boombox. You always seem to lose your signal from time to time with the antenna that is included with the boombox (mostly during indoor use). So i decided to go with this outdoor antenna for the new receiver and I'm glad I did. Installion was simple. I attached it with the included hardware to my satellite dish and ran cable antenna (with extension kit) to my Sirius Connect Tuner.

My set up is as follows: "Sirius Home Outdoor Antenna" connected to "Sirius Single Cable Antenna Extension Kit" which is connected to "Sirius SCH1 Connect Tuner" which in turn is connected to home stereo receiver.

I have been very happy with all my products made by Directed Electronics and would recommend all.
