I got this because my roommate has this product. We can share our neighbors signal even though the neighbor's house is 50 yards away! I have 3 other wireless adapters and none can pick up a signal like this one. Not only does it get a connection, it holds it consistently.
I read one of the reviews and someone said they replaced the antenna with an even longer one and increased the range even more.
Anyways, good product, great bang for the buck.

Very Powerful Wifi adapter.
We use this in our RV along with a high gain panel antenna and pick up wireless internet connections when we travel. Gets good range, no problems so far.

Data-connectivity problems
The unit was easy and simple to install. The signal strength indicator appeared to be as good as one could possibly expect.
However, I found that I could NOT get any data to pass through the unit! (Well, RATZ.)
I resolved this by UNPLUGGING the USB cable to the unit, then e-attaching it to my Windows XP computer. (I would "loose" the data through-put if I shut the computer off, then restarted it again; I would also "loose" the data connectivity if I did a restart.)
Once the unit was disconnected, then re-connected, the unit played just fine. (Many hours of perfect use, with no troubles! -As long as I did not restart, etc.)
The unit came with version 1.7 of the driver software on a CD; I was able to locate version 2.0 or 2.1, which I applied; No change or help was noted.

I reviewed this item already????????????????
I starting to believe that amazon.com doesn't publish scathing reviews because I reviewed this purchase already. If I have to do this one more time I will be thru with amazon.com. This company charged me a restocking fee of 20% and took 3 days to charge back my credit card after I called them. What do I think? Don't waste your time your gonna loose money in the process.....and by the way the engenius antenna did not work at all!!!!
