Good Product

(5 out of 5) by Eric Chan on Dec 2, 2009 (Fremont, CA)
This is a good product for you to use Skype. It connects to the regular phone, when your Skype friend call you, you can answer the Skype call on your regular phone. You also can answer the regular phone call.

Great Little Device! Perfect for SKYPE

(4 out of 5) by Andre Bertheola on Jun 2, 2009 (Elgin, TX)
PROS:
I have tried numerous products but this one packs a pretty good Punch.
Other products just have to many issues with skype where this one works every time.

I had an old laptop and I used it as a "vosky server" all I had on it was windowsXP, Skype and Vosky Software I configured the laptop to reboot once a week. and it worked great.

Never had a problem making or receiving calls.

The instructions are clear. Dial "001" before the US area code and your fine.

I Also have 9 Speed dials and they all work perfect.

CONS:
There was every now and then Dial tone Beeps at random for no apparent reason.
According to the forums it has to do with the tone of your voice on some words.
there is no fix.
but it is sporadic so it does not really bother me.

Other than that I like this device.

It's a piece of crap, don't waste your time.

I read all the Amazon reviews, figured because I am a big boy who works with computers and IT for a living I would have no problem despite the wide disparity of reviews and experiences. Why? Because it's a great idea and I really wanted it to work. After spending a day dicking around with it on several different computers with all different permutations of Skype versions, hardware and OS, going to their pathetic forums and seeing unresolved issue after unresolved issue being addressed with "never saw that before" or "I'll study that in the lab and get back to you", as well as the experience of others who worked for weeks, months and even years to try to achieve reliable operation, I could never even get it to function at all from the get-go and concluded that even if I did after another day or two it would be but fleeting as I have to keep my systems updated routinely and the experience of others is that any time anything is changed this thing swirls back down the toilet bowl again.

Unless you are a glutton for punishment or just one of those lucky folks where everything in life is plug&play, you'll get more satisfaction from burning the fifty bucks to cook a marshmallow. I'm so disgusted I don't even want to spend another minute to try to return it for a refund, preferring rather to kill it in some sadistic way and post the video on YouTube.

Good with a tweak

(4 out of 5) by T. Wijaya on Jun 7, 2008 (California, USA)
Bought this vosky a couple of years ago. And since now I do not have a phone line yet, I was thinking to use Skype outgoing and buy a call-in number.

Well the vosky proved to be useful, Previously, I have the skype 2.5 comes with the CD. Obviously its already outdated.

After researching from the web, found out that its possible to upgrade the drivers and the skype.

So now, I am running the vosky with Skype 3.6.0.248

So for those who claims that this vosky not working with Skype 3.6
Well it works for me.

You only need to set the audio settings in skype:
Microphone: Vosky Call Centre
Speaker: Vosky Call Centre
Ringing: Vosky call centre

And disabled the
"Actiontec Voice Gateway"
from the Device Manager.

Do I recommend this product? Yes
Is the Sound quality better than if you are using headset? No, but it provides convinient since now I can make a call from my bedroom.
