The VoSKY Skype Call Center makes the usage of Skype easier than you could imagine. Have you ever missed an incoming call on Skype because you haven't heared your PC? When my wife asked me to install Skype on her PC I started searching for a box which integrates Skype in our home telephone system.

Get all your incoming calls transferred to your DECT phone, Skype from your mobile while sitting elsewhere, but not in front of the PC.

The installation is very easy and the comfort you gain is real value for your money.

Pros:
-installation very smooth. Will auto update driver and firmware!
-dials with Skype speeddial AS WELL AS with international phone format (contrary to many comments on the net). This format is 'country code'+'phone number'. So in the USA this is 00+1+###-####.
-has many call center features such as 'ring back', call forwarding.
-can use in conjunction with regular phone line.
-computer can be used for voicemail.
-connects with ANY phone, wired or wireless, so phone features can be as nice as you are willing to get.

Cons:
-at this time (1/2007), still advised to use Skype v2.5 (though I use it with v3.0)
-voice quality still not up to par with regular phone line or most cellular. Good, but not excellent. This probably has more to do with Skype VOIP than the VoSKY Call Center.
-needs the computer on all the time to use with Skype.
-takes over sound settings in Skype so cannot switch back and forth to a USB earphone/mike easily.

Comments: Actiontec faq advises to use direct USB connection to computer: ie. not through a hub. Connection did seem to improve when I did that. Works as it should. Nice little device, literally (fits in palm of my hand).

This product was falsely advertised by the manufacturer as working with Skype. Gee, I guess I was presumptive to think that meant THIS YEAR'S version of Skype! When I called the Vosky support number, I was informed that the product is only designed to work with an older version of Skype (2.5), which is neither supported by Skype nor is it available for download by Skype. (The other reviewer who said that this product works with Skype 3.1 is contradicted by the manufacturer's own helpline). So that means in order to use this product, you have to permanently forego three versions of improvements that Skype has made to its software, as well as all future updates.

Since 2.5 version has been discarded by Skype itself, it is only available on other websites. Once I downloaded the old version (uninstalling my new version), the product still did not work. There are no manuals, nor troubleshooting available for Skype 2.5, and it is not the customer's job to search usenet groups to learn how to use an out-of-date unsupported software, just to accommodate a brand new Vosky product.

For our business, I was responsible for evaluating the Vosky products for implementation in our PBX system. Well, the quality of the call center is obviously a bad mark on the rest of the Vosky products.

Vosky's support desk said nothing about Vosky updating its product, creating a patch, or clarifying their advertising. They simply prescribe using this old software PERMANENTLY, regardless of how many times Skype improves its product, these guys want to keep us in the past. That is a very unusual approach for a technology company to take.

everything works very well. i can call everyone on my skype call list from anywhere.

This item dose not take advantage of new Skype 3.0. You need to dial 001 and area code and phone # for USA calls within USA- how dumb is that. New skype 3.0 do not need to dial 001 to make USA calls in USA. I hated male voice dial tone saying " vosky call center ..Blah blah blah" Thech guy at Vosky told me no option to change the dial tone nor "001" digit problems.
