Doesn't always work
The first one of these keyboards I ordered didn't work, so I exchanged it for a new one. This one worked fine for a few months. Now it will simply stop registering with the computer and I have reboot to get it to recognize I have a keyboard plugged in. I do NOT recommend this keyboard based on the problems I have had.
A good product at a great price
If you have ergonomic issues using when writing, the Adesso ergonomic keyboard will almost certainly ameliorate some or all of them. The keyboard is intelligently designed, the features all work, and there is, generally speaking, enough room between the palm pads and the keys that your fingers will act naturally when computing.
I was a little skeptical that something this cheap could perform as well as it has for me. As a professional writer-editor and a person that has written 1,000 Internet reviews, I am using this thing all the time. In the past I've been beset by elbow and shoulders inflammation from the amount of time I spend at the keyboard. I've had no relapse of any condition in the years I've used the Adesso ergonmic keyboard. When used in combination a good ergonomic chair with adjustable armpads and an ergonmoic mouse pad, you should be in good shape when using this instrument.
I was also surprised that the upper tier specialty keys all worked when I touch them. These include keys for Home, Favorites, E-mail, Volume, Mute, Play/Pause and Stop. In the past, I had to program my PC to use these keys but they seem intuitive on this keyboard. Not so with the Power, Sleep and Wake Up keys at the upper right, however. Guess I'm supposed to do something with them to get them to work. Also, the L key on the keyboard does not seem to depress like the others. I often have to hit it hard with my right ring finger to ensure it works. It always does but the touch element isn't as good there. In addition, the keyboard could be longer from top to bottom to allow my hands to completely relax. I have to use a modificed "hammer finger" technique to consistently type at professional speed.
Still, these are small complaints about a very fine instrument. I'd give this a higher grade except it hasn't lasted long enough for that. Still, this is the best of the batch I tested when I bought a new ergonomic keyboard. My old one didn't have a USB connection; this one does so it's good to go with all PCs. I'd recommend this to anyone seeking a cost-effective ergonomic keyboard.
