1st Time Scope Buyer Seems Like Quality, BUT

(4 out of 5) by Sean Byron on Aug 21, 2008 (Milwaukee, WI)
Let me start by saying that this scope looks the part when you get it. The 100mm lens is really something- creates a great big field of view and allows a lot of light in. The scope itself is sturdy and easy to operate. The tripod is kind of cheap, but not the worst-what do you exect? You get a nice nylon carrying bag as well.

The problem is this -it will not give you a real sharp close-up. I thought I could see real minute detail from 100 yards and you just don't. What you see from 100 you see about the same from a mile which is pretty good. The problem is it just doesn't magnify real super close. Maybe my expectations are too high. If you want to see super close detail you probably have to go to a $400+ scope. I also bought the adaptor for the camera and that is kind of a POS. It works, but if you put any presure on the button to take a picture this adaptor shakes like crazy. I would recommend buying a different adaptor.

Great Buy

(5 out of 5) by Gary Gobin on Oct 6, 2008 (Brentwood, CA)
Wow is it big but still a great price for the quality and works great with mounting bracket if you get Barska Tripod. Just keep in mind how big it is when you order.

Barska Gladiator 25-75x100

(4 out of 5) by Craig S. Remsberg on Jan 29, 2009
Fantastic buy for the price. The scope is great, extremely clear at lower to mid power, but gets a little fuzzy around 75X. Super light gathering in low light. The included tripod is cheap and not very stable, but for the price, the scope alone would be a deal.

Pleased with this scope

(5 out of 5) by Canadian Tiger on Jul 8, 2009 (Raleigh, NC)
Eye relief is long enough for me to see the entire field of view while wearing my glasses. Zoom plays well with the exit pupil diameter. Focus knob requires lots of turning but allows for some fine adjustments. The action is very smooth and precise. Optics are top notch.

This is a straight line scope, so it is not the best for pointing upwards at the sky. Best for the terrestrial viewing it is designed for. You can still view objects near the horizon pretty conveniently, however. The lens gathers so much light it is almost hard to look at the full moon on a clear night.

Good Product

(4 out of 5) by Clifton Bomar on May 31, 2009 (TN, MT, and New Zealand)
This product was purchased as a present for my son-in-law. We have both found it to be very functional, especially for the price. The field of vision is narrow at high magnification but still quite usable. It would be too heavy for packing into the woods but works great on the deck and at the range.
