Tip wouldn't stay on.

This seemed like a great deal... inexpensive and with plenty of adapters... but the tip of the plug kept falling off and finally I lost it after only a few months... but it did work well while I had the tip.

Compatible with many models

My dog ate my power adapter for my Yamaha keyboard (really!) and on searching I found out that a replacement was going to cost around $80. So I decided to go with this universal model and was very happy that it was compatible. One thing that you should know is that there are 10 different "tips", A-J that range in size and voltages of 15V, 16V, 19V, 20V, 24V DC. If your laptop is rated at a DC voltage other than the above, then this is not the product for you. Most laptops, however, are at one of these voltages. The tips are hard to press on, but unless you need to change them often, then this shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't recommend this product if you plan to use more than one tip on a regular basic as I think the tip would wear out pretty fast. The product has a neon blue light indicating power and it doesn't get too hot like a lot of these adapters do. Worth a try - good deal for the money.

Breaks quickly

(1 out of 5) by Princess on Aug 24, 2008 (Aurora, Missouri United States)
A friend destroyed my laptop's original charger so I bought this since it was inexpensive. The first cord lasted for about five months before it suddenly stopped working properly. The tip needs to be wiggled to just the right angle to even allow the computer to hold a charge. And forget charging at all. Because of the angle it has to be at to hold a charge, it can't also be charging the computer(not all sides are touching or something).

I bought a second one. It lasted for all of a week and then started doing the exact same thing. Oddly, I bought the car charger of the same type as this and it works perfectly. I don't know what causes this particular type to work so poorly.

Great product

(5 out of 5) by Prantap Bedi on Aug 15, 2008
Bought this to replace my Targus universal adapter which I bought for $80 and which gave out after 3 months. Immediately on opening this felt like a more sturdy product with tighter connections and less individual parts. Overall a good buy with the option to get it overnight.
