I had the one just below the 5576 the 5571 BRAND NEW. I dropped it in the kitchen sink water quickly got it out and it STILL WORKED! i dropped it on the hardwood floor, slightly stepped on it, and it STILL WORKED! Range was good down a Block away. Clarity was good on both sides of the call.
My only BAD experience was during some phone calls of about 20 min or more it would disconnect, then read "Set Date & Time". So I called Panasonic, the Rep said try to leave the ac plug disconnected for at least a *minute.* This resets the base, and resets your Date & Time. So after restoring power to base I set Date & Time on handset again. NO MORE BIZARRE DISCONNECTED CALLS!
I heard some complained of unusual disconnected calls The Rep said, this can also be the Caller ID phone service as well. FYI. Great phone 5571 I'm happy :)

WE ENJOY THE PHONE FOR ITS HANDSET WITH THE COLORED LIGHTS THAT DISPLAY WHEN IT RINGS, WE HAVE A DIFFERENT COLOR FOR FAMILY, FRIENDS, BUSINESS AND UNKNOWNS. THE CALL TALKING IS A GREAT FEATURE AS IS THE COLORS ON THE SCREENS, HANDSET AND ANSWERING SYSTEM "METALLIC GREY". PHONES BEEN GREAT TO US. JOHN ROCHE
