A Perfect Match To The Yamaha Sound Projectors

(4 out of 5) by MonsDomain on Feb 4, 2007
If you own one of the Yamaha Sound Projectors, I'm sure you've already determined that a subwoofer is a must to fully enjoy your system. I personally have the YSP-800 (see my review) and it's just not a home theater without the rumble. I have an extra 10" JBL sub that I tried with the YSP-800 but it was too boomy and the timber just was not right so I decided to get the FSW100. As expected, it's a perfect match to the YSP! It provides a clean, subtle bass with out drowning the mid and high tones. The controls located on top of the unit are simple and straight forward. The sleek, elegant design would compliment any flat panel TV and it's a sub you would want to display rather than hide behind a bed or couch. Another nice feature is the System Connector where the sub turns on and off along with the YSP when connected. The silver looks better IMO rather the the traditional black. The only thing that held it back from getting 5 stars from me is it's inability to handle the extremly low frequencies mostly heard in hip hop and rap music. Other than that, it's been able to handle everything I've thrown at it.

The Yamaha YST FSW100 is enough to provide plenty of good bass in a small to medium size rooms and the performance you get for the the price is excellent! If you're looking for a sub to match your Yamaha Sound Projector, look no further.

Great Little Subwoofer

(5 out of 5) by Stephen McLin on Jun 30, 2008 (Lafayette, CA)
I have several other expensive subwoofers as part of Home Theater Systems but wanted an inexpensive one for a modest surround system in a guest house.

This Yamaha delivers all the bass you need for a smaller room and at a great price, doesn't weigh a ton and I have mine inside a smallish cabinet behind the cabinet door where it works fine. The bass goes right through the cabinet door.

If you did need to have it exposed -- it looks great -- I particularly like both the design ergonomics and the silver color.

Nice Sub

(5 out of 5) by R. Hoyt on Feb 14, 2008
*Disclaimer-I am not an audiophile, nor do I play one on TV*

This is the perfect match for the Yamaha YSP-800 82-Watt Digital Sound Projector, Silver (amazing) in my smallish (Cape Cod) living room. Slim design and plenty of tight clean bass. I never need to turn it up more than 1/2 way. I am very pleased, and my home theater experience never sounded or looked so clean.

Rounding out my presentation

(5 out of 5) by L. Braham on Dec 27, 2008
This sub-woofer does the job! I needed a shallow structured device, that would round out my sound, with clarity, responsiveness, depth of tone and sufficient volume potential. I transport it daily on a cart with other equipment and needed one with shallow depth to fit on the cart. The color matches my keyboard. Thank you for presenting it!
