Decent Speakers for Price, But Beware!

(3 out of 5) by J. Major on Sep 27, 2005
For the price, these speakers are not a bad deal. However, they are a bit misleadng. They do require batteries or a dc adapter, however, they will also drain the power from its source. As it does so, the speaker quality decreases dramatically. For example, I use this with my iPod. I used it over two days for a total of about 8 hours. The first day the iPod was fully charged and the batteries in the speakers were brand new. The sound quality was surprisingly good. By about hour 4 I noticed that songs with bass sounded crappy and that my iPod was close to being dead. As I let the unit play the quality got worse and the iPod went completely dead. As soon as I plugged the iPod into the wall charger the speaker quality returned to its original clarity.

No power source

(4 out of 5) by Shaun E. Toney on Jan 24, 2007 (Branson, MO)
For the price, these speakers are definitely worth it. I use them in my room and I never have a problem with the sound. You can turn the sound up on the speaker unit and if that's not loud enough, turning the volume up on your iPod increases the volume as well.

The only complaint I have is a lack of power source. You will have to either by batteries, which can be expensive, or a charger. I bought a charger and everything has worked fine so far.

Overall, these are worth getting if your looking for something cheap and easily transported.

iPod-MP3 on the go

(3 out of 5) by Scott French on Jan 9, 2007 (Ft. Collins, CO USA)
This is a nice set of speakers for travel! I have an iPod and several other devices that I like to listen to. Having a small set of speakers that fold up and protected for travel are great for breafcase (backpack style). The only little complaint I have is that the cable that plugs into the player is very short. It's ok if you are going to have the speakers and player right next to each other, but if there is any room needed you have to use an extention. But overall, even the sound is great and being able to power it from a notebook PC is nice for when I'm watching programs downloaded from my TiVo.

Surprisingly good sound

(4 out of 5) by Ally O'Malley on Nov 19, 2006 (Portland, OR)
For the price, this device has surprisingly good sound. The battery issue is valid, but you can buy a 6V 350mA AC adapter to minimize the issue. I would recommend this to non-audiophiles, but what audiophile has an iPod?

Good While it Lasted

(2 out of 5) by Marsha Mosenthin on Jul 31, 2008 (North Little Rock, AR United States)
The speaker sounded good, but in less than two weeks, it stopped working. The product was only used by an adult and definitely was not mishandled in any way. Save your money and go for something a bit more substantial.
