Solid Performer

(5 out of 5) by D. Rohrick on Feb 23, 2007 (Eagan, MN)
I decided to upgrade the video card in an old Dell machine. However, the OEM power supply was only 200W so I installed this 400W power supply to pick up the extra load. So far I am quite pleased with the Ultra's performance. This PS has all the connectors I need (and then some). The wires are long enough to reach every component in my case (ATX).

I really like being able to use the on/off switch on the back of the unit when necessary. In the past I've had to unplug the computer when it locked up and wouldn't respond to keyboard inputs, the reset button, or the front on/off button. The 120mm cooling fan in this PS moves more air than the 80mm in the my old PS (while making less noise). This is important because not only does the PS stay cooler, but the inside of my case stays cooler due to the increased airflow through the case.

I have used several Ultra power supplies and will continue to use them as needed.

Great Upgrade

(5 out of 5) by Robert M. Odonnell on Nov 25, 2007 (Gloucester, MA USA)
Like most people I had to upgrade my power supply to support newer video cards like the NVidia Geforce 8800. I was really reluctant due to being in the hardware business many years ago and experiencing difficulties when changing power supplies. I have to say that this product is amazing with all the connectors provided. It fit like a glove and I was able to complete the replacement in less than an hour. Great Product!

Atx Power Supply

(5 out of 5) by B. Arnold on Oct 20, 2007
I had traced a persistent crash problem on my WinXP system to my power supply being under rated for my video card. The AGP card manufacturer recommended a PS with a 12 volt rating of 18 amps. Mine was only 12 amps. This new PS is rated at 20 amps and has solved the crashes. Additionally, with the large fan, the unit is virtually noiseless. Note: the quality of the parts and documentation is excellent, too.

An OK PSU

(4 out of 5) by A. Munoz on Dec 25, 2007 (L.A., CA, USA)
Needed it for my vid card. so far its been behaving good, very quite, seriously u can't hear it. Unlike this other guy in the reviews who said it "fit like a glove," on my PC it didnt. The 4-pin molex connectors were really hard to fit into my optical and my hard drives, i actually had to use a razor to slice-off a stupid piece of plastic from the molex connectors so they could fit in. but no biggy, comes w/ plenty of connectors for future devices.
