I had no idea a machine could be this FAST!!

(5 out of 5) by Bill Nye on Mar 11, 2007 (Buffalo, NY)
AMAZING!! Right out of the box the MAC PRO is a winner for all applications requiring the extra horsepower. Upgrading from an iMac G5, it's a Night and Day difference in rendering power for Final Cut Pro. It's just unbelieveable, what else can I say...WOW!! If you are debating on buying the new intel iMac 24" for any sort of video editing application, spend a little more for this and you won't be disappointed. And hey, the $[...] rebate is a nice incentive.

Great System

(4 out of 5) by Finish Carpenter on Sep 10, 2006 (Philadelphia, PA)
I looked at Dells site and the dell with two Dual Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5150 2.66GHz (s) was always more expensive than the Mac Pro given that no one in their right mind buys memory and hard-drives from apple. Just go with the basic system and get add ons from someone else.
Video effects are practically instantaneous compared to a 2.0 dual G5. It's wonderful.

Attention PC lovers : the earth is not flat

(5 out of 5) by Cat on Jun 28, 2007 (Tennessee)
Big time! I have been held by the bondage of my PC and have now experienced a new world. No more "program not responding". No more hard shut downs. No more spy ware. The machine just works that is all there is to it. Don't think about it any more, you should buy this machine now. So just hit "add to cart" and experience computing the way it was meant to be. Go ahead ...you can do it.

By the way, this machine tears through video and anything you want to throw at, and laughs when you ask if it has had enough.

very very quiet

(5 out of 5) by leon langan on May 4, 2007 (San Francisco)
I have had many Macs down the years, most recently a PowerMac G5, an iMac G5, and an original Mac Mini. This machine is much much quieter than any of them, maybe quieter than any Mac I have ever owned (well, the 128k Mac was as quiet when the floppy wasn't active: no fan).

Great working machine

(5 out of 5) by R. brpacific on Nov 9, 2006 (Los Angeles)
I order the MacPro few weeks ago and I was working on a G4 Powerbook for more than two years. This machine is way superior in all the aspects and if you use Universal programs, it flies. I'm working with thousand of photos and I use several different work flow to generate DVD's, video slide shows. This is the perfect computer for this kind of work. If you just use office software and word processors this is not for you.
