If you like deep and tight bass in your car like I do, then this is the right product for you. TS-W306C is the new offering by Pioneer in W300 series. After the successful predecessors like W302, 303, and not so great 304, W306C is worth its cost. In fact, this was launched with the price tag of $125, and I am just surprised to see that one can buy it from here for 65 bucks only.
Why you should buy it:
1.IMPP: Yes, it's true that the reason why Pioneer sells more subwoofers than their competition is because of their IMPP (Injection-Molded Polypropylene) cones, which makes the cone lighter in weight. To keep it light but strong, Pioneer has invented a new technique for their subwoofer series. They blended the IMPP with the layers of Aramid fibre(used in bulletproof jackets -heh).
2.Dual Magnet disks: The W306C wears a dual magnet disks, which weigh a little more than 100 oz. These magnet blocks in return give more force for louder and accurate music performance.
3.1000 Watts: 1K Watts of max power handling, 400 watts of nominal power handling. With frequency response curve of 18Hz ~ 500Hz, and low sensitivity of only 89dB, you can actually bet on the sound clarity, even at low volume.
I am using this subwoofer along with the Blaupunkt GT Series basstube. What I like about this 12" subwoofer is that my amplifier lifts the cone without effort along with powering to 10" Blaupunkt speakers, Pioneer's Dome Tweeters, but for my Blaupunkt basstube requires as separate amplifier. I guess this is where the IMPP scores over traditional hand-made paper cone( the one in Blaupunkt). This subwoofer will satisfy most of you, especially those who are looking for the perfect and tight low frequency in their car. However, please note before you buy that this is NOT a Free-Air model, so you will need an enclosure of 1.5 Cubic Feet in order to get maximum from it.
