Decent

(3 out of 5) by Zaapiel on Mar 1, 2008
I use the radio during the day mostly for AM sports talk. I get decent reception outside and horrible static when I'm inside. The tuning dial is hyper sensitive and will move slightly if you keep it in your pocket causing annoying station bleeding. I'm currently looking for something with a digital tuner.

What you see is what you get, a mini Radio AM/FM, no surprises, I need a very simple radio and this is perfect!

Don't waste your time or money

I bought two of these. One didn't work at all and the other was of such poor quality that it wasn't worthy of the batteries that powered it. The reception was bad. The headphone jack or plug didn't have good contact. The user controls are difficult to use if you're not paying total attention (e.g. while exercising). My wife found an alternative at Target that worked better.

NECK STRAP!!!!!

(1 out of 5) by Zube on Jul 11, 2008 (Joisey)
Wow, what a hunk of junk, even at its low price. FIRST OFF, the item is listed as COBY CX-71..... WITH NECK STRAP. On every reference to this item.. "WITH NECK STRAP". Funny, you'd think that if they continuously refer to the item as "WITH NECK STRAP"... well, you'd think there would be a neck strap wouldn't you? I guess it's just a figure of speech. No neck strap, just a wrist strap. I see now that the picture of the radio shows a wrist strap. My fault I suppose... I was going by the "WITH NECK STRAP" notation. Silly me. Strangely enough, I chose this item because of the incorrect assumption that it came with a neck strap. You would think, ok, if they didn't mention the neck strap, you would be taking a chance ordering it and hoping that maybe there would be a neck strap. OR, if it stated "NO NECK STRAP", they it would surely be a mistake to order it if you wanted a neck strap. But, in this particular situation, I feel, and correct me if I'm wrong here, in this situation, where the item NAME, contains the phrase, "WITH NECK STRAP"... do you see where I'm going here? Maybe I'm being too vague. THE NAME OF THE ITEM INCLUDES THE TERM "WITH NECK STRAP", and of all the things missing... A NECK STRAP shouldn't be one of them!! NECK STRAP!! NECK STRAP!!! AAAUGHHGGHHH!

OK, whew... I feel better now... I'm past the whole neck strap thing...

Oh yes, one more feature to review...

The reception and sound on this thing SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
