This is exactly what I have came to expect from Cerwin Vega. This center channel speaker is huge and heavy (great cabinet construction). Like all other CVs the speakers is not the most power efficient, but if you have the amp to power it... the sound is clear, crisp, and loud.

I have some older CV towers and this center matches with them well enough tone wise that the limited center channel tone adjustment in my surround sound reciever was able to make all three sound alike, just wished it came in walnut instead of just black. As has been mentioned it is a big heavy speaker which is always a good thing as far as speakers go, you can never make a cabinet too stiff or too dense.

Got this to replace my Bose VS100 center-channel speaker, then added a pair of CLS-12's to go with it. The improvement over the Bose is striking. Gone are the muddy lows and poor definition in the mids and highs. Dialogue now sounds clear and intelligible, even at low volume, and the dual 6.5 in. woofers (larger than you'll find in the majority of center-channel speakers) bring a theater-like presence without overwhelming the higher ranges. Judging by a lot of the home-theater setups I've heard, many are underestimating the importance of having good power and range in the center channel. What a difference.
To the reviewer who suggested that Cerwin Vegas aren't power efficient, you couldn't have it more backwards. Cerwin Vegas are in fact known for their efficiency. Their enclosure size should be your first clue about that. Don't confuse large size with inefficiency. This is why Cerwin Vegas, in general, are a great value for the average consumer surround-sound amplifier, because you don't need massive power to make them sound great (though they can take a lot of power, and they'll sound better with it if what you're after is very loud volume without distortion). You pair your average JVC, Sony, Onkyo, Pioneer, etc. (pretty much any amp sold at an ordinary consumer-electronics store) and pair it with some nice, fat Cerwin Vegas and you'll almost certainly get better all-around performance than when paired with most of the more traditionally high-end speaker systems (which tend to be smaller and LESS efficient), and that's partly because Cerwin Vega understands Hoffman's Iron Law (look it up).
Before you purchase this product, examine its dimensions closely. The product photograph doesn't do justice to its size. It's bigger than a lot of right- and left-channel speakers out there.

im using this speaker for singing karaoke in our family parties and last July 29,2008 we was having party and it sounds great!! i actually have two of this speakers now..and pushing them with a Behringer powered mixer with two sm58 microphones..sounds clean and loud..

Yes, the center speaker match my two Cerwin Vega front speakers. Do I recommend this product, absolutely.
