My Sony Ericsson Z525a got the white screen of death, and the AT&T store told me there's nothing they could do to recover some short video clips of my new granddaughter from the phone.

I read about this cable on the internet. I found it on Amazon and ordered one straight away. After it arrived, I downloaded and installed the software from Sony Ericsson and was able to recover the clips and several photos with no hiccups. I'm very pleased.

I bought this for my wife so we could copy the important data -- such as pictures and whatnot -- from her cell phone to my computer, and this did what it was intended to do. I wouldn't rate the build quality incredibly high, but it's not low quality/cheap either. For the price I paid (less than $5 shipped), you really can't complain unless the wires were frayed and the thing didn't work -- neither of which were the case. I would definitely recommend this.

Worked perfectly with the Sony Ericsson software that we downloaded from the Sony website! After the drivers automatically configured themselves (OS: XP Pro SP2) for the phone, etc., connection was seamless with the TM506 phone we use.

I was happily surprised to find that it DOES also charge the phone!! (contrary to reviews here that say it won't) Caveat: Don't know if this feature works for ALL models of phone that this cable supports. Again, we use the TM506.

Also noticed that it is not necessary to even LOAD the Sony Ericsson suite - once the phone is connected, you can use Windows Explorer to transfer files back and forth between hard drive and phone, if you are just uploading mp3's, jpg's, or videos, etc.

Extremely happy with this little cable.

What can I say, it WORKS. This adapter comes standard with some Sony phones, but not the more expensive Z750a. Go figure! Sony wants $10 for it, but I got it for $4 with shipping via Amazon.
