I took the 9551 with me on a trip to Savannah and Hilton Head - it paid for it self AT THE AIRPORT with cops and troopers running radar there. Five miles later on 95 it picked up laser, K and X signals way before you could even see the bears! I love it!

This is the 2nd Cobra radar that i have owned the first one lasted me 5 years and the only differance between the 2 is that my old one talked to you and this one don't but this radar is still awesome.

With free shipping, it showed up in less than a week.
This is my first radar detector. The guys at Best Buy said the better ones will tell you miles ahead when there is a cop.
I figure even with 1/2 mile warning, there is plenty of time to slow down if necessary. When I lose track of my speed, I like it when it beeps. Even if I'm doing the speed limit, it's good to be reminded.

So far the unit seems to be Great, sniffed out everything it should be in the City and muting out the nonsense stuff after the 1st few beeps. The only drawback is it's HUGENESS in size. No way the Windshield Bracket is going to hold it up for any period of time. It fell twice in a 1 week span so I velcroed it to the dash, Works just fine.

This radar doesnt really catch much it will tell you somthing is there right in front of your face u will catch a cop with your eye before the radar will. Plus now a days cops dont turn there radar on untill cars are pasing them so they can clock u without u havieng a warning of the radar blinking
