The Kappa Legacy

(5 out of 5) by Dr. KEITH CASTILLOUX on Apr 6, 2008 (Portland, OR. USA)
I have been upgrading my cars stereo systems for the past twenty years. If you are looking for the best speakers money can buy--- Infinity Kappa is not it! However, if you are an everyman's audiophile on a budget looking for accurate reproduction and durability out of a speaker, you need to look at the Kappa series. I have tried a potpourri of top brands over the years and keep coming down to two names for the application I am looking for. For accurate full range on a budget it's infinity Kappa. For accurate vocal reproduction it's Focal. Focal is a bit pricier but for that special clean vocal performance they are a quantum leap better. I am upgrading my old Jaguar now with these 4" Infinities Kappa mainly because they are 2 ohm high efficiency speakers and can keep up with the superfluous bass the factory built in bass chamber produces.
Kappa 2-ohm high efficiency speakers are perfect to upgrade the original system in your car especial if you don't plan additional amplification. They require less power to produce sound and the result is very accurate reproduction at low to the upper mid ranges of volume--on a budget.

impressive

(5 out of 5) by Z. Abedin on Apr 7, 2009 (St Louis, MO)
I have had these speakers in my car for well over a year, and they still impress me every time i sit down in the car. I am a huge nerd and something of an audiophile, and i did ample research before buying speakers (so you dont have to!). Basically, there are like a million different materials you can make a speaker out of, which change its acoustic qualities. the woven design of these cones makes them extremely rigid, so they handle high frequency notes without distortion. When paired with some infinity reference subs, the result is a very dynamic sound experience. The subs handle the bass, while these small 4" speakers deliver incredibly crisp vocals and higher frequency sounds. I only have two of these in the front of my car, and an older pair of infinity kappas in the back, but all of my friends who know anything about sound are still impressed every time they sit in my car. When paired with the appropriate amp (make sure you read the wattage for your amp when at a 2 ohm rating), you can either blast these speakers with minimal, if any, audible distortion, or you can hear really good quality sound at normal volumes.

Great performance in a 4 inch speaker

Crisp, lively speakers that give as much clean sound as a 4 inch door speaker can.

The crossover gives you additional mounting considerations.
