What a Great Little Speaker!

(5 out of 5) by Mark A. Wellman on Jul 12, 2005 (Plaucheville, LA United States)
The Boston Acoustics CR75 is a very nice speaker. There is much bass output that is natural, not boomy. Voices sound clear, cymbals sound like cymbals, pianos sound like pianos, etc. They are very balanced from the low bass to the highest highs. At this price these speakers are a steal.

During the 80s I worked at an audio store that featured Boston speakers. They were great back then and are even better now.

For any price these CR75 are great.

These bookshelf speakers are on the large end of the catagory at 7.5" wide X 12" tall X 9.5" deep. They still fit nicely on my bookshelf system though. Having said that, the sound is incredible. In stereo mode you could do without a subwoofer, the base is that good. Highs are crisp and pure and mids are clear not muddy.

In surround sound mode set your amplifier to "large speaker" 'cause the base response is fantastic, and I can actually hear the .1 Low Frequency Effect (LFE) from my powered sub much better than I could with my set of acoustimas (still a great speaker for audiophiles). I assume that's because the sub is not decoding as much "normal" range bass, but I am not sure since I am not a professional in this area.

Anyway, I like these a lot.

As previous reviews said don't skimp on the reciever/amp. more is better, do your research and get the most amps. you can affored for your budget, you cannot overpower these sweeties.

For the money this is a crazy good deal. These match perfectly with the CRC center channel speaker as well.
