For once I have had a totally 100% satisfactory experience in buying and operating a piece of electronic equipment. I ordered this on a Friday night, paid standard postage, and received it by noon on Monday. It was wrapped very carefully, but I did not have to use power tools to get it out of its packaging. The item looked exactly as described, the little set-up guide was clear and simple, all I really had to do was plug it into the wall and into my USB port. And it supported my archaic 1.1 USB port, just as advertised. And data loading was fast and easy. I am really happy with this little company and I hope they go far.
DES does design and sell cool electronic devices
I ordered a 40 GB Super Slim Zoom Drive from DES last year. I just LOVE its super light, slim design compare to some other 2 pounds external hard drives with loud noise while running. The Super Slim Zoom Drive series works superb, fast, safe, and quiet. This April, I ordered another 80GB of this series for myself, only to find out that they launched the 100 GB one a couple of weeks later. The cool part of this series is the weight and size won't increase even though the size has doubled or more. Now I am ordering a 100GB one for a friend of mine to back up all the sermons that I have downloaded as she already has an iPod. It's a wonderful gift for someone who is about to move. Just hope their price will be cut down a little bit. Thanks!
Zoom meets my offsite backup needs
This was just what I have been looking for to meet my offsite backup needs. It's 93 MB capacity will backup my system nicely (using Retrospect), and it is small enough to carry in my back pocket (in its compact and convenient and protective leather carrying case)...so I have a backup offsite with me where-ever I go! On a Mac G5, it runs fine using ONLY USB power, so it couldn't be more convenient since I don't have to do anything but plug it in the USB port and its good to GO. Backups take place at an average data rate of about 350-400 MB/min (about 3 min/gig). Thanks DES for meeting this need.
