Quality DVD Recording at a Reasonable Price

(4 out of 5) by Daryl Cross on Oct 21, 2009 (Cleveland Hs. Ohio)
The DVDs are heavy enough to be sturdy. The picture quality after recording is very good, much better than I thought it would be. Its printable surface produces very nice lable images and text. The price is very reasonable. I had heard bad things about Memorex tapes, discs, etc., but whatever I had heard was either wrong, or the company has now solved the old problems. I like the DVDs very much, and would definitely recommend them to others.

DVD Back-up review

(3 out of 5) by Fred Walker Jr. on Oct 1, 2009
The Memorex DVD-Rs were received in an appropriate amount of time properly packaged. The quality from memorex is always good. I like the printable DVDs to better make the labels. Regular DVDs and stickon labels change are thicker and sometimes do not work. Good product and good price.

Memorex printable DVDs

(1 out of 5) by Ralph E. Crawford on Sep 22, 2009 (Pompano Beach, fl/)
I have been a user of Memorex discs for several years without a complaint. I don't know why, but these discs are terrible. The printable surface has a streak half an inch wide that isn't readily visible to the naked eye until close inspection reveals it. This streak causes the picture print to develop with a terrible looking streak when printed. This caused me to waste 7 disc worth of ink as well as the burning time. The container that the disc come in is not the same wrapper as I have received in the past, this one is mostly white.

MORE BAD THAN GOOD DISKS!

(1 out of 5) by Allen T. Ajero on Sep 13, 2009 (chula vista, ca)
this is my first time trying this memorex dvd r product. there are more bad disks than the good ones. the cheap, generic GQ and Optimum dvdrs are far better than this brand. i never had any bad disks using the generic brands. avoid this expensive memorex dvdrs. they're trash and a waste of money!

Quality discs....Great Printables

(5 out of 5) by E. Coleman on Sep 9, 2009 (Cape Coral, FL USA)
Memorex is a love it or hate it brand. Despite its well known brand name. Some people have horrible results with it. Others have terrific results. Like everyone else says. Make sure your recorders can handle memorex media. Verify your discs after burning to be certain. If they burn ok. Then you shouldn't have a problem with them.

I was very happy with the print quality as well. Not only is it hub printable. Printing all the way from the hole to the outer edge of the disc. But it also retains the ink very well. I used to use Verbatim printables and they would smear very easily. These do not thankfully. They retain the ink well. I use them with a Espon Stylus Photo R380. People are very impressed by the quality of the print it makes with these.

I love them, I'll stick with them. Great item

11/16 update:
just to add the ink retains well for standard printable discs. That does not mean its waterproof such as 'watershield' or 'aquashield' or the variables that exist. If your hands are wet enough and you make the effort. They can smear. But unlike previous standard printables I've used, smearing requires more moisture for it to occur. I just don't want anyone to buy these thinking they are 100% smear-proof. They are not. For that you'll want the more expensive premium printable discs such as Watershield or Aquashield. Those you can submerge into water, and they won't smear.
